London Broncos are disappointed to announce that they are unable to register Jarrad Hickey as a member of their 2012 squad.

Under Super League rules, each club is only allowed to register a maximum of five non-Federation Trained players. Jarrad would have been the club's sixth non-Federation Trained player.

London Broncos have done everything within their means to try to rectify this unfortunate situation without success.

The club will now work with Jarrad to assist him during this difficult time and continue to explore alternative playing opportunities for him.

No further comment will be made on the matter.

Obviously disappointing for him to be cut right before the season is about to start. He always had potential but could never improve on his fitness. Hopefully he can pick up another club.

They're getting tougher on imports in the Super League, Jarrad really needed to be of Pacific Islander origin to gain a place, the statement seems both 'ruthless' and clinical in it's brevity.
I'm really surprised that an outfit like the newly re-branded London Broncos have failed in regards to his eligibility, but they 'can' loan him out to another club when a position becomes available either through injury or just plain punting a player for a variety of 'ordinary' reasons.
Hickey was a huge man but for whatever reasons didn't use his size to his advantage, the old saying 'Looked like Tarzan, played like Jane', he'll probably get a run with one of the lower tier sides.

Wait, so Harlequins are the London Broncos again?

Yeah, they've reverted back to the Broncos from this year. They've also changed their kit and logo, using the same colours as the Cronulla Sharks

Chance to play footy and live in London, travel, and be well payed for it, now gone.
