No. I'm not confusing anything at all.

You should have said that you don't think Taylor's decisions were based on ego even though they were obviously the wrong decisions.

So his ego is the only answer for his mistakes? Does that count for other coaches too? And as for him sabotaging our year this yr, that is categorically false. We made enough progress this yr that satisfied everyone at the club and a big chunk of supporters.

You are right in that it could just be dumb decisions. Who knows exactly why he made some really poor decisions in the time he has been here.

The progress this year was good. Hopefully we improve on that again next year.

Fair dinkum, you have to be a troll. You contradict yourself that much it's not funny.

He's made poor decisions but progress has been good? By that logic we'll be a powerhouse if he starts making the right decisions.

Let's list it down them for the slower amongst us.

1st year:-

1\. We came dead last. If you want to play semantics we came second last on for and against.
2\. We played a brain-dead style of footy.

2nd year:-
1\. There was a really dumb decision in relation to getting rid of Robbie. We were right in the running to make the 8 and Taylor pushed him out without appearing to gain any cap benefit.
2\. We improved on the ladder a lot and made it to just outside of the 8.
3\. We played a much better style of footy and went away from the defence only mantra.

So we definitely improved this year but there have been a lot of dumb decisions.

I hope you understand that. It's actually pretty clear.

I await the day when Wests Tigers can attack with their defence…

We need to set really high standards if Taylor is going to stay on. He has completely stuffed two seasons with his ego. Taylor ball and the Farah drama were all based on Taylor and his ego.

You honestly believe Taylor, or let alone any first grade coach, would risk ongoing employment due to ego? Vacant NRL first grade coaching positions are quite rare and usually quite competitive, yet you believe a coach would ignore all that through his ego. Absolute nonsense.

Could you ever consider that coaching the team a different style of play and moving Farah along were in the long term interests of the club?

Even if you don't agree with Taylor, I'm certain HE believes that it's the best thing to do for the club and all that ego talk is nonsense.

Of course, better coaches than him have been wrong before.

You don't need good defence to place well according to one supercoach here.

I've watched for years Wests Tigers try to defend with their attack resulting in 3 Finals appearances,,,You can win a few games sure but no way is it sustainable over an entire season,,,

Then I've watched teams like Manly Melbourne Canterbury Sydney Roosters Brisbane even bloody St George Illawarra who attack an opposition with their defence play regular finals football for a decade as well as end up in the big dance often…

I know which platform I'd like the Wests Tigers to stem from...

Exactly. He has a view on how the club can improve and he is making decisions accordingly - conviction! This is why the club pays him.

There must be some personal, ideological, insular or more appropriately emotional issue to think it is ego.

Which is why i think Warren Ryan and Jack Gibson have been the best 2 coaches i have seen. Both improved the defences of the clubs they went to but did not hinder the natural attack to much.

It was once said that defence wins games, the attack looks after itself.
Sounds a good approach to me too, Geo.

Agree, i don't think its ego, he has a plan and he is putting it in play, he certainly isn't a rudderless ship. You can't coach at that level and have that many people watching you and not have a plan.

He does come across as arrogant so it may seem like he is driven by ego. His ego may have been involved in the handling of RF but not the decision to let him go.

And there is still no guarantee that anyone can do better. Hypothetically, Lets say Sheens had never been at our club and he was available today, would you prefer him over Taylor?

I would have said Sheens, like i did back then and while we got a diamond, we also got rocks.

So while i may not be JT's biggest fan, I am a WT fan and us supporters - we are just here for the ride!
