Jason Taylor on replacing Robbie Farah and the future of Mitch Moses and James Tedesco

he could even rattle the stats off about defence losing games when he was booted out of first grade - seemed clue-er than Jason about what needed doing. Has a broader game than Jason because he also knows that tries can be scored up the middle if the opposition don't have their player positons correct. **And he can show them how not to be intimidated - sort it out in the scrum.**

Yeah getting sent off would be a great idea, that would really show the other team…

was cheered off by the LO crowd if I remember right - they backed him. Would be better than our brilliant youngsters getting whacked week after week and no one sticking up for them. It is reasonable that our light weight youngsters can be intimidated by regular brutal treatment. Better to die standing up fighting than on your knees.

Yeah I was there cheering him when he got 10 in the bin (as did Watts). There's a big difference between getting 10 in the bin and getting sent off and sitting out a few weeks which is what would happen now.

I'm completely impartial. I'm not anti-Farah or anti-Taylor. I judge both of them based on how I judge their performances.

I just want the Tigers to win as many games as possible.

X4\. Disrespect for their coach by some WT fans during matches is a very bad look for the club, doesn't engender confidence into the WT players and in the eyes of fans from other club makes the club look like rubbish.

The ones that do boo him pay their admissions, and are entitled to show support or boo whoever they like

Fair enough. So if you don't like your Nanna then it is well and good to hurl abuse at her and give her the bird when she rolls around for Xmas lunch? Same thing…...you can't choose your family either.
But it just makes the person that does it look like an imbecile in the eyes of others IMO.
I'm far from convinced by Taylor's coaching and probably wish we had a top-notch coach instead but I certainly don't stoop to the level of booing the bloke. Each to their own.

When I last looked, no one was booing anyone's Nanna, But if you want that as the comparison ,….....If the 'supposed 'Nanna ', had been crapping on about the same BS for two years and making promises that she couldn't keep, as well as spurting out supposed facts that even blind Uncle Norman could see was a result of a too close association with
A bottle of home brew. ........I suppose the some in the family , could be excused if they were seen intensely reading "Euthanasia for dummies".

I booed once when an opposition side ran on the field and got whooskaed behind the ear by the old man

Never did it again , learnt respect real quick

I'll put my hand up.
I'm firmly anti Taylor. I think he is a nasty, big noting, delusional liar.

That said, I wouldn't boo him.

Yeah, I don't get booing nor do I encourage it with my kids.

Anyone playing or coaching at NRL level has achieved more than I.

There are some exceptions Watto …......

Stephen Clark and Badger come to mind !!!!

I've boo'ed opposition teams when they run out on the park and boo'ed bad ref calls! I don't see the harm in it and never have. My dad would kill me if he read this post, but here is my point of view;

When I boo, im not saying it in a get nicked way or with any angor or hatred, I do it as a part of the theatrics and fun relevant to the event. In the right arena I thinks it's part and parcel, I don't swear abuse at the opposition players or refs (ok maybe the odd f bomb when we bomb a try or get a bad call, quickly followed by appologies).

The boo is how the crowed show disappointment in the sporting arena and is the correct environment and I believe it's acceptable.

If I was at the theatre or listing to a speech or the like I would never boo but in the sporting context I think it's part of the entertainment, the odd boo is better than the way some of the other pin heads carry on at the games.

This year being at so many games and hearing the reaction when Taylor's name was announced was the first year i have actually questioned the class and intelligence of our supporters. Everyone loves giving it to Souths and Dogs fans because they stereotypically have low amounts of those two qualities, but our supporters were dead set embarrassing with their booing this year.

And i love the classic ''i support the team, not the coach''. What difference is that? Both the players and coach share the same success and failures. Does that mean you want the coach gone? How is he going to get sacked? The team is going to lose. But don't you support the players and want them to win? If they do win, then the coach will benefit. No logic in it whatsoever.

Taylor strikes me as a bloke who booing and jeering would only make him more determined. Rightly or wrongly he thinks the road he has taken is the right one for our club and nothing is going to change his mind. Self belief and determination are good qualities to have especially when you coach at NRL level

Love him or hate him, he's hard as nails. This year could have completely backfired. The players could have stopped playing for him. We could have easily finished in the bottom 4 again, and he very well might have been gone. But we didn't. The way he kept the side together after he dropped Farah was commendable.

I think we can agree on this point GNR. I really doubt the class and intelligence of the Taylor apologists.

Still onwards and upwards I state. Let's all just keep fighting the good fight.
