Jason Taylor on replacing Robbie Farah and the future of Mitch Moses and James Tedesco

JT is talking about Mcwillrck and Idris. Why doesnt the club announce these signings like all the other clubs. We hear about it on the rumour sites, the cosch pretty much confirms it, yet no announcement. Maybe our membership team should take over media releases aswell.

I like how Taylor reveals some of his idea's. Many coaches dont do this. For him to come out and say the first opportunity will go to Ballin and Liddle combo, with McIlwrick working for his opportunity will help us fans stop speculation on the role and help appease those who are worried about ET playing hooker.

I agree, it was good to hear how JT was going to structure the 9 next year, that he was working on the halfs taking more control etc….

Here is my guess…the Club is launching a new Exclusive Members ONLY website early November where as stated in the Membership Launch..... Members will receive additional news and content, with major Club news to appear on this site first....in other words before it is released to the rest of the pleb fan base...

I think someone forgot to tell Jason this....

They could be here currently on a train and trial basis like I read another player at another club is currently (forget who now)…they may be basing it on injury development...who knows...

“The most important thing is that we all understand that **it will be going on behind the scenes.**

“And as a club **we will let people know when there are developments.** Otherwise we just need to get on with our preseason.”

Dave Taylor has a training contract with the Raiders, announced by Stuart.

"Taylor said all the players had gained great confidence from the way they finished this season"

😱pen_mouth: How they gained great confidence from a 50 point drubbing when their season was on the line and they had everything to play for is beyond me! Easily pleased or very low expectations? Perhaps a bit of both.

Pretty well going to turn into another Taylor bashing thread I think - what is new.

TAYLOR - WHAT A JOKE HE IS!!!!!

How dare he be positive about the coming season, how dare he talk our halves up and the full back of the year as well. He really is an idiot. He also let the fans know what his plans are for the number nine - how dare he let the supporters know what is going on. He also has many other indiscretions to answer for - like filling people in on Jamal etc.

Like some on here say - he should be **much more** negative - he should talk about how we were thrashed by Canberra twice this season by a total of over 100 points. How being a young team that can be a "rocks and diamonds" affair is no excuse - they should play like a SOO side every week - just because you are learning is a totally unrealistic reason.
He should also flaunt the second tier salary cap by playing who he likes, when he likes. The NRL would never know he is not sticking to the rules - would they?. It is also boring, saying we have no money all the time - maybe true but that is no excuse. is it?
What a goose this guy is - it is all plain sailing for him. he took over a team that was going to win the comp - didn't he? - everyone could see that.
He should be spruking this stuff as often as possible to gain more fans, tell all and sundry we have nothing to look forward to, that would increase the memberships tenfold I am sure, it would promote more positive articles and drag more people through the gate…..

YOU GUYS!!!!!

Excellent post. If you and I understand that, why can't the Board?

Maybe cause they're not narrow minded, aren't negative and look at a bigger picture than just one game in terms of an entire season

It was not one game, I was at Penrith in round 24 with our season on the line and they dished up crap, and the coach and his golden child should have been put on notice that night.
You think JT is doing swimmingly, I think he is a fraud
who has failed on his 2 mantras from when he arrived, if that is narrow minded then so be it.
Blind faith is not a great trait either, but carry on as you usually do.

And you can look at games like the Cowboys, and Saints and Parra who we beat convincingly when under enormous pressure after Farah was punted. There were positives in the last couple months, but when your mantra is ''JT has got to go no matter what'', its pretty easy to overlook.

So right…If we won the comp a lot of people would still want his head. Taylor is our coach for 2017, and unless we start the season very poorly I guess he will be in charge till October 2017 at least. From where I sit he is doing as well as I think anyone else would do with our current roster

Thurston has never beaten the Tigers in Sydney it is a curse, The only time they beat us was last year at Cambo because Thurston was out & we played Taylorball.

The Tigers didn't beat the Cows at Leichhardt because they were the better team.

It was the curse - please!!!!! get real.

When they win, we are pathetic - when we win it is the curse.

Yes we played well that game but after a big win like that we never back it up. We had to win 1 from 3 games to make the 8 and got hammered in 2 of them not good enough for me.

No Russell I'm not trying to turn it into a Taylor bashing thread at all - whilst I'm not a huge fan of his coaching methods, I am not one of the forum members who continually posts negative stuff about him. I have always been prepared to give him a go and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with the team, especially now that all the drama with Farah is finally out of the way.

However, the mindset of the players and the culture of whole club, in general, is what really worries me and that is what I am alluding to in the above post and have also commented on in posts on other threads.

It's a very fragile mindset, a mindset of accepting mediocrity that has plagued this club for many years now and until it is properly addressed, we will continue to be dwelling in the bottom half of the ladder, sometimes hovering around the 8 like this season, but failing at the last hurdle, as we have done many times in the past. Is Taylor the man to change the mindset and culture of this club, once and for all, and take us over that hurdle mentally and physically? I don't know, but how anyone - player, CEO or coach could be happy with the way the team finished last season is beyond my comprehension.

That round 26 performance and the performance against Penrith, that 851 mentioned, just a fortnight before, when they had everything to play for were just bloody appalling! A good club would have been livid with such a capitulation at the pointy end of the season, and rightly so, but we somehow think it was ok to end it that way and take great confidence from it? I'm sorry if my expectations are too high for some, but a mentally prepared team, in the dream position that we were at the end of last season, would've made the 8 without question (except for perhaps the Warriors, who seem to be plagued by the same mental fragility that we have).

I hope they can come out next season and learn and grow from the disappointment of that capitulation - because, let's face it, that's what it was and it's great that they can take some positives out of the games they could grind out and when they put it altogether for 80 minutes (i.e. against Cowboys/Brisbane), but in all honesty, until something changes within the mindset of the players and the club overall, until they are willing to put in for 80 mins every week (not just once every 2 months) we're most likely gonna be in for yet another season of the mediocrity and inconsistency, which we've all become accustomed to way too easily.

Jeez Louise. Now we can't even enjoy our great victories. It just a curse when we win.
I seriously don't know why some people follow us. They don't seem to enjoy anything about the club.
