OFFICIAL Jeral Skelton #294

Jeral is off contract at the end of this season, I’d say either use him or lose him.
I think he’s too good to lose, we need to use him.
Whether we think he deserves it or not, Turuva is not being left out of our NRL line up, so o think we need to at least try a right hand side of Skelton and Turuva. Not sure which one will be better suited to right centre, I’m thinking probably Skelton with his extra size.

Also depends on his body. He is out more than in and becoming a player we can’t rely on.

If everyone was 100% fit I would have him on the right wing and give Turuva center if Toa gets injured again.

I have no confidence that Toa's shoulder will hold up for very long, run Skelton and Andrews at right centre at training and see who shines, have to find a spot for your best players, can't have them sitting in KOE forever.

I think Andrews is going to be a good 1st grader just get him in the side somewhere before too long, at centre he will have no problem setting up his winger we have seen what he can do with the ball.

Tissue Toa and Skelton are guaranteed to go down for multiple games this year. Luke is 3 foot tall and half the player of a Brian To'o to cover his height issues. Rookie Maka, who while he could be anything, he could also go down the path of what could have been. We have Tito and May as solid players. Even with those few extras there to cover the 4 run on spots it wont be enough for the whole year. Some kids will still get a run in firsts like Tavana etc. Skelton is a quality player but out of the first grade run on now and his injuries are a liability. Could go the path of older outside backs and get moved into the pack ala Rowdy, Wiki, L Lewis etc. But not sure his shoulder will hold up. Cut for next year. Tigers should be looking for a few more outside back singings announced this year.

I'd like to keep Skelton as a valuable depth/starter option. But money will likely play it's part & Tavana looks a decent option coming though as well.
Tavana is really showing them all the way in his ability and effort to compete on so many high balls. He hasn’t quite got the height and size of Zac Lomax, but effort to compete for the high balls and aerial ability is very Zac Lomax like.

I’m not sure if Andrews is quick enough for a centre, but if he is he’s certainly good enough in all other areas.

That's the trouble with analyzing speed, unless you go to a heap of training sessions or during the season get to see them in the clear the average punter has trouble deciding what kind of pace they have.

He will get used if each of the top 6 players of the back 5 play 17 games each that's 102 games

Who will fill in the other 18 games ?

I like Skelton. He's down the pecking order now though with the emergence of Makasini.

Last year Tino played 24 of 24 games highest amount of games

Second was To'a on 19 games played

Third was Bula 18 Games played

Fourth was Skelton on 15 games

Fifth was Charlie Staines and Taylan May on 7

A big problem was lack of communication in defence
