Didn’t we have a draw with them in Round 1? I just had a look and you’re right. I thought we had an earlier draw. Maybe it was one of the Ball or HM teams.

Thunderbolts r the new Illawarra ,a draw every 3rd game

Unfortunately another poor performance. Our attack was limited pretty much to bash and barge. The incessant bringing the ball back on the inside instead of mixing it up & going wide was frustrating whilst inexplicably we seem to have even mostly abandoned going high to the air (or when we do the kicks are poor) which worked so well in earlier games.

I thought Ogden was quite good. Mavoni strong with the ball and a handful.

Our 17 made 3 very costly errors that led directly to tries when all we had to do was hold onto the ball. It would be most unfair to blame him for the loss. There were far too many errors all round.

If we play like that again this week we can expect a big thumping from St George.

Not sure if we are unfit or just fatigued but Lambkins gave this side all a big serve after the game including those that have trained at NRL level.

Hustle beats talent when talent won't hustle.

This is a side that has too much potential to continually play only 2/3rds of the game to an acceptable standard each week.

Thanks Thaiger for the rundown, could Scolari plays 1st grade yet?

He needs time in NSW Cup to adapt to that level first. All the more reason to promote him soon and move on the likes of Cooper to Massey.

If we start blooding him now and see how he handles the step up he may be an option for next season. If we leave him in Flegg all season then he won't be.

Thanks mate, I like the look of this kid and hope can make the step up.

I would agree with this, was hoping to bump into another forum member there so it would have been good to compare notes.

I would agree that fitness is an issue with this side, and there was very little in the way of talk out on the field, particularly in the middle. Mavoni needs to work on his fitness, he's only got 15 minutes in him each half which isn't good enough. Bloke is built like a tank and when he comes off the back fence on the opposition tryline it's almost a guaranteed 4 points.

Goalkicking was really disappointing, whoever took the kicks kept fading them out to the right which is a fundamental technique problem.

Ogden and Dillon were the pick of the backs. Kei didn't look interested and the halves were average. Thaiger if you know Lambkin gave them a serve after the game, I figure you're related to one of the players. This team needs to learn to play with some desperation and mongrel. They had the Thunderbolts at their mercy through some occasional hard hitting but instead of going for the jugular they were happy to take their foot off the pedal each time.

Isnt it crazy to think that not only is our Jersey Flegg team running 1st but that Blore, Stefano, Hoffman, Talau, Kepoa, Madden, Simpkin and Simpkins are also all within that age group and could play Jersey Flegg

Interesting stats from the NSW app. Eli Morgan did the most tackles with 28 (says from fullback but I’m sure he played 2nd row - Ogden played fullback), Alexander most fantasy points (says 2nd row but played centre) & Scolari most metres with 155.

Much better application but we don’t exactly throw it around or wide - neither winger got the ball in general play and yet we’ve got a weapon like Kei. (Do we really need DWZ next year?)

If you win I suppose it shouldn’t matter. Fair play to Chops.
