Key performers?
Fonua Pole and Sione Tupou when they came on changed the momentum of the game. Up until that point we were being outplayed and the Dragons found gaps up our middle. There were some very big tackles from these two and Pole in particular made ground. He was most unlucky not to score a try in the second half.
Kade Hill I thought was good, Dillon recovered well from his early early error and the two centres looked lively but Alexander needs to learn to pass. Twice there was an overlap to an unmarked Scolari and he went himself. That should come with maturity.
Scolari is one of those players who understands the big moments in the game. When the Dragons in the second half attempted to go wide and find a try he moved up and sat his opposing winger on his backside with a driving tackle under the ribs. The next tackle he chased infield and took down the first receiver to shut down the play when the Dragons were trying to fight back. He has that spirit that Gould often mentions when recruiting.
Thanks and sounds like Scolari has footy smarts.
