The Chairman acts as though we are all fools. Extremely tired of his antics already.
And why does he feel compelled to comment on player negotiations? LM and JAC he ran to the press and ended up looking like a fool.

Lee was quite in the media once and was shown to be 100% correct. Also how many times during this protracted time did you read “why doesn’t the club come out and tell us what is going on?” Well our chairman came out ONCE and simply said JAC signed a HoA and if he isn’t at Melbourne he will be at the Tigers. He was 100% correct. I think that is pretty professional tbh. We also don’t know the reasons behind it. It’s possible that Souffs and Bulldogs were sniffing around and that was Tigers method of telling them to back off. Probable IMO.

It must have been a last minute invitation as he looked like they dragged him there from the lane behind a pub with paper bag in hand.

If our systems were in place and producing fast young backs, we would not be forced to rely on Joey Leilua's and to a lesser extent Roberts. When are we going to see fast young backs promoted to the NRL from our juniors? I believe Maguire should be able to answer this question as he has been here for some time.
When there is 1 good enough to play nrl I’m guessing
And why hasn't our system being producing them as the Panthers, Brisbane, God Coast and Knights do?
Our system produced: Tedesco, Nofoaluma, Simona, Suli, Koroibete, Moses, Brooks, Martin, Papenhousen, N Brown, Woods, Fafita, Dwyer etc.
not a bad effort
How many of them are with the club? It's been a while since the most recent Papenhuyzen/Suli were produced. Where is this programme now?
You can’t have it both ways . You were complaining we don’t develop them , and also complaining we don’t keep them . You’re all over the place . Flat out your issue is we don’t have better players , in your opinion. You’re upset we kept the wrong players and upset we signed the wrong players . **But the key to all this is past tense . We have legacy issues with the 24- retirement age players .** Because when they were coming up we were a basket case . Now we have to convince them that the current pathways is fixed . And it takes a lot of convincing it appears .
The only way through is to keep the current path for our juniors , which means buying stop gap players , like Mansour , who can do a job for a year , whilst Th ese kids get ready . Or we can sign wingers for 800k to play fullback , when they will be playing wing in 10 games because they’re not a fullback . This is why we didn’t pay him 800k . Because you don’t pay wingers 800k.
Think you've hit the nail on the head as to why the team has mostly gone backwards, we've often released players from a core group and switched them with players that aren't exactly better but fit other requirements.
Size, speed and attacking prowess/skill has been the way the game is going, for the past few years, and we've prematurely replaced any of our players (with these abilities) with the wrong type of player - in building team development.
I believe the club should simply focus on areas we need to improve, and last year showed weak defensive structures -especially in the middle - and a lack of speed on the edges.
It's why I can't behind Mansour, it's not a necessity IMO as we don't really need another winger plus we'll also need to find a suitable replacement for Garner too and there's only a certain amount of spots to fill.

It's a good argument and I can see your point of view but JAC at 800k is a much better option that some of the players we have on our books currently. We do need to manage the cap and I think the club has been going for the right players so far. We've just missed out on the top quality signings that have been available the past couple of years.
We have to take some calculated risks such as going hard for guys like Stefano and Blore and Laurie. JAC and Mitchell were also calculated risks.

We've a chronic lack of pace in the back line, we attempt to sign JAC and that fails. The answer now it seems is to buy a slow 30 year old winger as a 'stop gap'. How does that fix our lack of pace? It doesn't so the problem will still be there next year although we've spent more money to not fix the problem. It appears to be policy being made on the run and a reaction to failing to sign JAC. And you write of me being all over the place!

Of course Brisbane can back their youth development - they draw from an entire city and its surrounds.
That being said, the last 10 players to debut for Brisbane:
- Jordan Riki - Kiwi
- Tyson Gamble - from Brisbane but was first taken on by Tigers
- Isaac Luke - journeyman
- Cory Paix - Broncos junior
- Teis Niu - Broncos junior
- Ethan Bullemor - from Emerald, but brought in via Broncos
- Jamil Hopoate - from Sydney; sacked by both Parra and Manly as a junior
- Brodie Croft - purchased from Storm
- Jesse Arthars - purchased from Titans
- Izaia Perese - rugby union junior who has gone back to union, now in France
In the next set of players #11-20: includes Rhys Kennedy from Souths, Herbie Farnworth from UK, Sean O'Sullivan from Roosters, Xavier Coates from Gold Coast, Richie Kennar from Souths, Segeyaro from Sharks, Shaun Fensom from Cowboys
Even Tom Dearden is a product of Mackay and Gold Coast before being pinched by Broncos.
That's 15 of the last 20 players to debut for the Broncos who are not direct juniors from the Brisbane system.

To be fair I never imagined just buying the same old garbage type of player was a possible answer.

I completely agree although i hope he does sort out his personal issues is not a player i would sign on any low coin, he has had many chances in the NRL, 4 clubs can't learn from his own mistakes.
Neither can we if we sign him or Mansour.

He'll stuff up some how and we'll end up sacking him. Then the usual happy clappers will come out with 'how would Pascoe have known that would happen?? Its a freaken mystery.
