so we take Joe O off the Broncos....

They chip in x amount leaving 350k

Manly pay the Broncos the 350k that aloiai would've gotten from us....

We get Joe O for nothing, then upgrade him if/when needed.

Use our original 350k elsewhere

? What’s the difference between that and just getting JA off the books ? It’s the same outcome

just make manly pay what aloiai would've earned with us, plus his contract with them

7 news just reported Walters wont be releasing Joe O to the Drag queens good to see they are all over things.

So that means broncos don’t want to pay much of his salary hope we don’t pay too much for him

Pom indicated (if i recall correctly) they'd contribute $200k in '21 and $150k in '22. Assuming he's on around $500k that's pretty good value imo.

This could be Kev looking after his son's team.

Joe O signed a $2million 4 year contract in 2019, that would be a bargain for us at$300K.

I hope those numbers are true cause they’re good but it’s a sudden change of heart from them. Hopefully a deal can be done ASAP so he can move down from QLD and get here for pre season

From NRL.com

Despite Ofahengaue and Lodge being linked with rival clubs, Walters also declared both props remain in his plans for next season - along with Pangai, who has been stood down without pay since August and had strict conditions placed on his employment after breaching the NRL’s biosecurity protocols.

Might not get him after all guess we’ll have to wait and see. If they want Asiata they’ll have to lose someone and I don’t see anyone signing Lodge

Yes i saw that i was more pointing out they have no idea who he's in neg's with, the dragons were very early on in the piece

That’s just gamesmanship IMO. They’re trying to create some leverage , so they don’t have to pay half his wicket . He’s definitely worth 400k. He’s better than Aloiai

It appears that there may be a few hurdles to navigate before this is done and dusted.
From what Pom said today it appears that some of our coaching staff are still to be convinced that this is the right signing for us.
I’m also 50:50 on this one. Not sure it improves our roster if our man leaves for Manly.
My preference would be a subsidised Woods plus Josh as a direct swap for Curtis Sironen.

That’s correct they won’t be releasing him to the Dragons, they’ll be releasing him to us! 😁

With the tragic events of today, I doubt Manly will be releasing any forwards.

I see quite a few Broncos supporters claiming he isn’t that good and that he’s a bit lazy in defense, if true I hope madge can turn that around

He was pretty poor this year... it’s a risk signing.

I’d be happy with an apology to the club and he stays.

Agreed but they still are even more desperate for a decent front row forward. So you never know.
Sironen and Schuster are the only two that I would consider as like for like swap
