Joel edwards

Lets not get too carried away….

As depth maybe a year at a time...

He puts in. He can tackle. He is basically a reserve grade player. A contract for that level is money well spent.

Edwards is not good enough.

I dont for one minute doubt his effort and commitment, because that is certainly above some others. But he lasks size and skill.

If effort was the measure, any of us could be playing, including me! But without the top grade skill level, youre not much good to anyone.

we really lack a edge running backrower and to be honest with CWH resigning at penrith i dont know of many options. meanwhile edwards does lots of ahrd work in defence and is making line breaks.

there are probably better options on the market but it would depend if it was worth it against how much you would sign them for we could keep edwards for 200k

Edwards punches above his weight and he tries hard you can't knock him for that, but he has knocked himself out a couple of times this year in the process of which is a worry. Solid NSW cup player capable of filling in the first grade when needed..but you'd hope our depth is such next year he won't get a look in?

I agree that he shouldn't be re-signed, but gee there are some miserable comments here.

Sadly he is not first grade material. Sorry for being miserable

No he's not. But he was decent today until he went off. Was ok until Newcastle too.

I think criticism would be better directed at Sue. His work rate today was diabolical..

Forget Edwards We have to look hard at another prop. Packer and Mats this year play around 40-50 minutes per game they do run over 100 metres in that time though. At best they are good for 55 minutes. We need another 2 props that will play 35-45 minutes each. At this stage it will be Twal and Aloai but it's too big of a drop off.
