Joel Reddy

I am fairly sure Reddy will play wing if he comes to the tigers - I think it would be a good signing - he is a good defender , knows his way to the tryline (a lot better then brown or ryan) 43 tries in 90 games and had 4 line breaks in 6 games this year before injury. He is good under the highball and he played City Country just last year - I think he would be a definite step up from what we have on the wing and probably at a decent price given his injuries this year although a pectoral muscle is easier to recover from then a leg injury

I feel like I remeber him playing fullback too and I'm sure he was a FB as a junior but not sure he has played their much for Parra

Reddy could always just play centre & have either 1 of 2 options happen-

1\. Ayshford to lock

2\. Lawrence to fullback.

Would be very happy with Reddy- his non-nonsence style migt be a dose of what the Tigers need, to be honest. And his defence is strong & could help disguise some of Lui/Marshall's shortcomings.

Aysford will be lock in 2012 so Reddy will slot into his position. I have no complaints as long as we are not paying overs

Ryan is as good as this bloke so whats the go is it lets just sign someone ….Reddy = average at best not wanted at Parra well thats a good endorsment .This club is all over the place getting rid of players of the same standard this has to be joke!

He's a very good defensive player but has similar attacking potential to Brown and Ryan. Not really interested in his signature, would much prefer an under 20's player given the spot.

Is he the type of outside back we need?

Is he any different to Mitchell Brown?

Just a decent sized, solid runner, solid defender, safe footballer with no great footwork or turn of pace. Hes definetly a solid footballer but doesnt seem the guy whose going to change much.

Talent wise he's probably on the same level as Brown, but i think he has a better head if u know what i mean. He'll be more aggressive and confident than Brown, therefore he gets better results. Scores more tries, tackles well and works hard. He's a proffessional, and god knows we need more of them.

90% of our attacking plays are directed at Lawrence and Lote, so really all we need on the other edge is a rugged defender than can run the odd attacking run and he fits the bill, like a lot of other players!!!

Sironen maybe getting the 5/8 spot. Benji to fullback. Ayshford to lock. Reddy to the centres.

Sheens has stated that he is sick of being belted by teams with bigger players and he is doing something about it.

Two big and fast fijian wingers, Lawrence, Reddy, Sironen a big 5/8\. So a big and fast backline. Blair, Big Red, Ellis, Groat, Begonovitch? (spelling), Woods, BMM and hopefully Dwyer. Big forwards and not slow. A smart 1/2 back in Miller with a fully fit Farah with Benji at fullback.

Then you have in the waiting room: Mullaney (may have missed the boat) Tedesco, D Fifita, Shirnack (2), Junior R and a few other in Balmain, Wests and the under 20's.

What's not to like.

But God we need a break from injuries.

Reddy is a good player, better defensive player than any backs we have, but do we need him.

the joint is a joke atm…....we are willing to offload which was needed 3 years ago and all the australian coach can attract is a player recovering from a knee reco who is not wanted by a team that are just as bad as we are .....does the name wade mckinnon mean anything to our management? i wonder if trent waterhouse is available ... he would fit the criterior......

thank god. ^ really didnt want waterhouse.

As for reddy being only as good as players we are looking to offload in similar positions. i think he is probably a little better than brown, and definitely better than ryan. however his signature would only make sense from a financial stand point if we are losing brown, AND reddy is costing us less than brown would have.

i know im not the only one around here who thinks all this player movement is infinitely more about salary cap stuff ups than restructuring the squad to make it stronger, and as such unless reddy is costing us less than those he is replacing, i feel its a waste of precious cap room.
