Media beat up like always. The only beat ups that seem to always be correct are the mis management of the salary cap.

Wests Tigers centre Joey Leilua has been cleared to return to the Wests Tigers bubble, effective immediately.

Leilua had voluntarily left the bubble due to a personal family reason, with Wests Tigers providing NRL Project Apollo biosecurity experts with updates on his interactions and location.

Having reviewed that information, NRL Project Apollo biosecurity experts have cleared Leilua’s immediate return to the Wests Tigers bubble.

Thankyou St Joey
Your the best
We all love you
Now smash those dogs

Always good to get a BJ when you least suspect it.

So he can play then, this is a bit confusing, not surprising though for us

No the Nrl love the West Tigers
They love giving us a leg up
Watch all the 6 again calls come our way this weekend

Common fellas, have a heart. Joey hasn't broken protocols for the old chestnut personal reason, but for FAMILY reason. Let's not try to make his dilemma fit our own narratives.

The club was probably in contact with the NRL and advising BJ of what he could and could not do based on his intentions. If it was to just drop his family off (maybe the missus doesn't drive,) and he didn't interact with anyone else save the KFC/Macca's drive thru attendant he's probably in the clear.

So Maccas Sutton Forest on the way there and most likely on the way back lol.

Hopefully drive through as suggested lol.

Sucked in by the media once again .. headline with no substance ! Classic fake news ...Joey was burnt at the stake innocently .

Joey Leilua will be free to play for the Wests Tigers this weekend after being cleared to return by the NRL.

The NRL asked the Wests Tigers for a documented timeline of Leilua’s movements before allowing him to re-enter the bubble. It is unclear if the Tigers will pick him to play the Bulldogs.

He travelled to Canberra on Wednesday night, telling club officials he had to leave for family reasons. Leilua spent the night in Canberra before returning to Sydney on Thursday.

“Confirming after a meeting of Apollo biosecurity experts this evening and a full assessment of the circumstances including the player’s interactions, Joey Leilua is free to return to Wests Tigers’ bubble with immediate effect,” an NRL spokesman said on Thursday night

If anyone has the Michael Carayannis article post away.

And Marulan KFC. Worst KFC in Australia. Eaten there 3 times, had food poisoning twice.

Can't his wife drive a car?

I'm sorry but if the reason why he left the bubble was because his wife is "struggling" with the covid restrictions in Sydney and he had to be a driver, it's not good enough.

It's not an emergency as far as I'm concerned
She could have driven herself, or had other arrangements made to get them to Canberra.

If you're commited to a team you don't do this, especially after you just returned from being a goose and getting yourself suspended.

Imo Joey has robbed us this year, we haven't got anywhere near our money's worth out of him, in fact he owes the club, and now he's off taxi driving.

Are you serious - not everyone drives. It wasn't just about driving them down there as i'm sure there were other options available to get to Canberra. It was also about supporting his family when they needed him.

If it was so simple, why didn't the official release from the club give some clearer indication. Their marque player who just came off a month stint for a brain explosion into a team that got lapped the week before with the season on the line an spiraling towards another early exit to the season...and that's the official statement? I dont buy it and if you are honest most would not buy it either. What, super critical family emergency can be solved with a quick trip to the ACT? and get back? If it really was just to drive his wife, that's not good enough and to me is another alarm bell that the guy is a dud.

These are extraordinary times and a lot of people are making extraordinary sacrifices. I'd be happy if the club dropped him for the week. His brother is the decent player anyways.

What exactly are you complaining about? He told the club and communicated with the NRL and is allowed to play on the weekend.... he did everything right.

His wife and kids were struggling so he drove them home like a good father would. There’s nothing to punish him for, he didn’t do anything wrong.

It was really that simple, he relocated his family to Canberra on Wednesday afternoon, returned to Sydney on Thursday morning. All this was done with club knowledge.

From everything I have read, seen or heard the club was aware of the situation and are supportive of Joey.

It needs to be remembered that these are different times at the moment, players are not allowed to have people come to their house. That means that support their family members may have been getting from extended family is now unavailable, for example players can not have their mother inlaw come stay at their house to help out with the kids, which may have been a regular occurence in the past. It is not only players having to live under strict protocols but the rest of their families as well. I'd be disappointed if our club made a decision not to support a player who is just looking out for his family. He now spends the next month or so living by himself away from his kids, give the guy a bit of a break.
