Might be simple….its been homogenised for TV, its now a prduct, a business.....yeh simple, but very entertaining.

Cant recall the last time I saw a game a league that was still tryless after nearly 50 minutes, but hey, theres a Bledisloe test on TV right now and its just penalty, kick, clap, penalty, kick clap, zzzzzzzz

Ooooh ....another penalty

77 minutes…..oooohhh another penalty....no trys, but hey...12 penalty goals aint bad.
Awesome display of goalkicking....some good applause too

League is a simple game, it's been progressively 'dumbed down' since the sixties, there are no contests for possession anymore, the landscape has been cleared of any obstacles that might inhibit the forward progress of the ball. To suggest it is game with lots of technicalities is just wrong. Forwards have very limited job descriptions and are coached not to take risks. Offloads are the exception rather than the rule for instance. Set piece moves are a rarity, the game has become one of committing defenders in order to create space, with the decoy now playing the major role in attacking moves. Occasionally a Benji or a Barba pop up and break all the house rules, **but intrinsically you know what you're going to get**.

Yep….you at least know with League that you will get a try scored in 80 minutes of play.

Seriously though, Union needs to change up some of it's rules a bit (once a team receives a penalty inside halfway they are lining up for a shot at goal before the referee has even got the friggin whistle outta his gob). Not even the remotest thought of keeping the ball in hand and attempting to score a TRY-which in essence is what the main aim is in either Rugby code :deadhorse:

Look I think Grant if he stayed would have made it. He was an ok player and has speed. I said all along that Marika was better and would play NRL before Grant. I was proven right although it took Sheens too long to play him (Marika should have been in the side from round 1).

Grant is not a big loss as we have other good young wingers coming through.

In terms of match play there are.

It is why since the days of Ricky no player has crossed from either code and become an out and out star.

cooper cronk is a star and a convert…

Alot of players would have no use in the other code, but i still think there is scope for converts, mostly outside backs fromrugby as well as five eights would be the most compatible for league.

Didnt know Cooper had played even semi pro Union. Learn something new every day

Grant has had more words written about him on this forum in the last 12 months than any other player!!!!I saw him run around for BRET a few times and to be frank he had a lot of players who deserved a crack at the top grade in front of him.I am doubt he had the game to crack the big time, but in saying that speed is a wonderful thing and Benji would certainly give him some fresh air to run in

Don't think Ricky was ever a star in RU, In fact he was the second stringer on a short tour of Argentina, his one and had but one provincial appearance. Farr-Jones and Lynagh to get past, the decision to go to the Raiders was a no brainer

So what? It's a forum and if the citizens vote with their keyboards. The bloke has some good qualities and fans were anxious to see him do well. I saw him play BRET twice and he played extremely well. Then Club is hardly blessed with outside backs and given the performance of the team over the last ten rounds, it almost seems absurd now that he wasn't given a run. It's hardly the case that we were a well oiled top four outfit, we were a mindless, uninterested rabble
