Re the recent SMH article on John Sattler. He was indeed a tough man and it was an amazing feat of courage and endurance to play that Grand Final with a busted jaw. However, he did deal out plenty of mayhem and damage to lots of players during his years at Souths - not always legally - and I am being discreet. There's an old saying that "those that live by the sword die by the sword" and that eventually caught up with Sattler. Some might even say that he had it coming. I don't know him but I believe that he's a beaut bloke off the field and I'm not trying to debunk the Legend, just attempting to keep the record straight for history's sake.
