Can anyone honestly remember the last time this bloke opened his mouth that wasn't about being controversial to make a headline. Its no secret that since finishing up playing, the brother has shown that he has the better brain, personality and footy IQ, sadly this bloke can now only get some semblance of relevance by making these sort of comments.
Continually biting the hand that feeds him Phil Gould style.

BUT only half the player, if that.

That means nothing now they are retired.

That’s not how you spell ‘tetarded’

lol, I love a spelling joke that contains a spelling error 😛

Someone has been snorting to much Cocaine
Maybe if our players snorted as much Cocaine as he did they would be great players too

Is cocaine a performance enhancing drug - don't think so.

Well it does make you feel like you can run through brick walls

What is cocaine?

(Cocaine is a stimulant drug, which means that it speeds up the messages travelling between the brain and the rest of the body)

This would help Johns make quick decisions and be able to read the play wicker than most on the field

You may experience:

happiness and confidence ✔
talking more ✔
feeling energetic and alert✔
quiet contemplation and rapture
feeling physically strong and mentally sharp✔
higher blood pressure and faster heartbeat and breathing (after initial slowing)✔
higher body temperature
increased sex drive
unpredictable, violent or aggressive behaviour indifference to pain✔

I would say that would have given Johns a huge edge
He would have felt invincible

Plus with Joey and his cocaine use, considering the Knights had no qualms with helping him cover it up, what else did he take which the Knights also helped him cover up? Could have been anything. Massive question mark over his whole career for mine, and an absolute mockery of the Immortal status that he was named.

Andrew Johns is saying that there is not enough talent to support 16 teams, there is currently a big gap between the top and bottom teams. If there were 12 teams it would reduce the advantage of teams like the Roosters with their looking after players when they retire shenanigans.
The standard of each team would improve because they have more good players and less "budget" players, the games would be better to watch.
He is probably right and most league fans will adapt. I have lost my team twice (North Sydney & Wests), I threw a tantrum for a few years then swallowed my pride and came back.
Any change will be painful, I would hate to lose the Wests Tigers, but now is the time think about making the game better.

So Joey..is happy for roughly 120 players + hundreds of associated others to be permanately out of work...with 4 less teams....nice to be Joey..

Not enough talent? Quite frankly, I see that as an insult to all the up and coming young players. Sure, there are some poor performers. WT fans know that. However, when you look at Broncos, Storm, Chooks, Rabbitohs, Knights and Raiders? A spread of that talent would possibly create an extra 2 teams, providing equalisation of talent across an 18 team competition?

Yep. Wonder if he thinks theres not enough talent in the 9 commentary team too? I think that could do with a cull.

He's made his money off the game and has a cushy media role now so he's fine.

I'm OK with wiping 4 clubs out, if it means Nine and their team all lose their jobs too. I'd bet Joey would whistle a different tune then.

I agree with him have said it for yonks... Too many teams

Out of curiosity Ink, who would be your 12 teams if you had to make the decision?

Joey should have given this more than 30 seconds of thought while lying in bed at night.

The NRL needs to step in and do something about the uneven spread of talent.

As it stands, some clubs have enough financial clout to sign up the best juniors.

A bloke like Payne Haas getting signed as a 13 year old by the Broncos rather than coming through the ranks for Newcastle is in my opinion, a joke.

A draft would be a massively positive step.

Reducing the number of teams would not reduce the gap between teams like the Roosters and teams like the Wests Tigers.

Roosters would still have influence and ways to circumvent the cap if there were only 2 teams.

Furthermore, amidst all this corona virus drama, can you really see the television networks happy with less games each week? I can't.

Yeah Newcastle 1st

Clubs don't get any weaker than a club that achieved 3 wooden spoons in a row

We've had some pretty bad sides but we haven't won a wooden spoon yet
