JONES NAMES NYC TEAM TO PLAY ROOSTERS
Tuesday, 16 March 2010

Wests Tigers Coach Grant Jones has named his team to play Sydney Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday, March 21, in round two of the Toyota Cup premiership.

The Tigers will be out to record their first win after their round one loss to Manly on Monday night. Kick-off is 12.45pm.

1 Jake Mullaney
2 Sama Sauvao
3 Limoni Kamuta
4 Jake Clarke
5 Faleula Finau
6 Bodie Clarke
7 Jay Florimo
8 Neil Begovich (pictured)
9 Dean Parata
10 Ben Murdoch-Masila
11 Junior Roqica
12 Joel Wisbey

14 Sam Stanford
15 Vaha Pulu
16 Sebastian Vourlos
17 Mason Talolua

The Tigers will need to aim up in this one. The Roosters are nowhere near as weak as last year and gave the boys a touch up in the Foundation Cup. Plus the Tigers halves combo aren't as threatening as Nicholls/Lui were last year. Solid forward pack though.

where is spence???? wat is happening there??? in the trials i thought he did a lot better than a few others in the pack who looked very lack lustre as if they didnt care and didnt want to be there….

I'm a little bit surprised too, the prop Lui also looked alright in the trials but he's nowhere to be seen. I think Spence is turning out for Wests in the lower grades until called upon, but don't quote me on that.

Dunno whats happening with Lui. But from all reports the coaching staff were quite impressed with him through the trials and pre-season. And I believe he signed on for a couple of years…

He was there in a suit watching the Manly game along with Paasi….Injured Maybe?

It's a long season especially for forwards even at this Level....

There are some blokes who missed out that I though would have got a run...

Riqoca needs to pull his head in and stop playing for himself...

Stanford is great....we keep producing quality rakes that's for sure....

While Florimo's at 7....they will struggle....

That's the best I've seen Murdoch play for Wests Tigers....

Florimo at 7….....
Looks like the boy tries his heart out.
But
As a player to lead the team around the park??
Haven't seen much to change my mind.

Yeah I agree. He's got ticker and gets stuck in and has a go, but he doesn't have the ball skills, kicking game or passing game that we were used to watching with Nicholls and Lui last year.
