Will JAC turns us into the Premiership contender ?? No , not at the moment fix the forwards , see where we stand hooker wise and then fix the backline

You’re probably right Happy but I doubt if you could name more than 2 or 3 players that could.

To me we need players across the park so you might as well pick up who you can as they become available.

Cameron Smith , Jason Taumalolo , James Tedesco or RTS with our current squad I'd back us

I wonder if Storm let go of JAC, could they afford LM? Would LM go there? I know Paps is fullback there, but Mitchell might fancy himself that he is better than paps at fullback.

No, I have talked myself out of it, I don't know anything about LM's private life, but I'd imagine his family probably isn't down there so he may not want to go, and Storm might prefer Paps at fullback to Mitchell anyway.

I’m with you on 3 of those but none of them are out of contract any time soon.

RTS and Taumalolo havnt got their respective clubs contending. Every position bar halfback needs filling so I can't see the difference in where we start.

JAC would be great IF we had a pack that dominated and wide runners and ball players that can create a 3 on 2 situation. We don’t have this at the moment. Can’t see him wanting to join us when his claim to fame will be dirty hit ups from within our 10m zone.

hey Steve did you know that Wests Tigers were above the NRL average for post contact metres and finished above the top 4 sides..I know..:astonished:

Yeah I just read those figures and was surprised. Mate I’d love Addo Carr to return and maybe those figures demonstrate I’m incorrect in my judgement but I watch every game and we don’t seem to create space. JAC needs space. I think he’d be frustrated. But hey, what do I know. Maybe brooks and Marshall will create space for him if he comes.

Not saying I disagree totally with your creating space assessment but perhaps creating space wasn’t our problem but more we didn’t have players with the ability to capitalise on that space.

JAC doesn’t need much room and I think Benji and Brooks would provide plenty of opportunities for him.

Would chase him 100% but not for LM kind of money... 600k Max for me but the biggest problem is that the Storm have to give him permission to even talk let alone release him.

Well I hope we get the chance to test the theory. Not sure we will though

@yeti not negative just realistic, storm wont release him from his contract as they have lost chambers and curtis scott and if they loose ado carr thats basically their whole backline. Storm are a smart club so i dont see them releasing him

Surely they wouldn't put poor Addo-Carr through that mental trauma. What's the point of keeping an unhappy player? (etc, etc, see the Matterson thread)

I like Luke brooks but im not a massive fan as most would know. That said i think Addo Carr on a wing would really help his game. Its an option for him like he probabaly hasnt had before.

Year after year, most of us know that our biggest issue is forwards. We desperately need props/2nd rowers of a particular type, traditionally we had too many excellent workers but unfortunately, as a group, we were easily dominated by types like Papali, A Paasi, Teukeaho, JWH, Frisell, Kikau, end even Cordiner. If we have any sense, we would strategically spend big on our weakest point, our house foundation, regardless of fancy backs available. A good analogy is, spend big on fancy golden framed arts, in a house that could fall anytime!
Like a few here, I am not against LM or JAC, but the first thing first!
Some here created hysteria, like if we do not get LM it is the end of the world, while we shall look to attract/create Papaliis Teukeahos, Frisells and Kikaus first!

Interesting reading in the article posted on LM contract discussion that he snubbed a meeting with Madge the straw that broke the camel's back,we have 1.5 m to go to the market and players have to say how they can help WT,s get to the semis and Also JAC is not on the radar (this could be a smoke screen) however it shows Madge is not going to sign a player to fill a hole and that the big C word comes in to play that strikes fear into most males COMMITMENT to the club and playing group.

MADGE HAS A PLAN.

I could be wrong, but I understand it was his manager that first postponed and then cancelled a meeting this week. That is what the club reacted to and pulled the contract accordingly.

The article which has been posted several times says That Mitchell refused to travel to Concord for a face to face meeting with Madge and goes on to say they hoped to sign him at the meeting.

The article I read highlighted in Red appear to direct quotes from Madge hence the number of times inverted commas were used.

Yes the article says that but that is coming from the journo, not Maguire. At no point is Maguire quoted as saying anything like that.
