Despite two years left on his deal with the Melbourne Storm, winger Josh Addo-Carr is said to be tossing up a return to Sydney.

Addo-Carr has been a bona fide star since joining the Storm in 2017 from the Wests Tigers and has about $700,000 left on his current contract.

Yet according to Nine's Danny Weidler, Addo-Carr and his manager, Chris Orr, will both meet with Storm officials in Sydney to try and nut out a deal which would see the flyer leave Melbourne.

"I've been hearing for a while that Addo-Carr wants to base himself in Sydney because of a changed family situation.

At this point I haven't heard that Addo-carr has asked for a release nor has he fielded any firm offers," he said. "But that could change with today's meeting."

Addo-Carr was asked whether he viewed Melbourne as home just weeks after the the season ended, and he was quite clear on where his heart is.

When asked last week if Melbourne or Sydney was home, Addo-Carr made it clear the Harbour City is where his heart is.

"Sydney is always home for me," Addo-Carr said.

"I'm grateful for what Melbourne have done for me. They've turned my career around. They've turned me into the player I've always dreamt to be.

"Sydney (though) is always going to be home. My whole family is there. If I want to start a little family, I want my kids to grow up with my family."

Addo-Carr also credited Craig Bellamy with helping him transform himself on and off the field.

"It was the culture of Melbourne," Addo-Carr said. "We have good leaders. You have to work hard to be in the side. You don't get given the jersey. You earn it."

Yet he left us because we didn't gift him a jersey and him not wanting to earn it...

I think in hindsight we've looked pretty silly there. Having Rankin on the wing instead of him was one of JT's biggest shockers.

And how do you know that for certain?
I swear, some posters just have such a negative 'default' position when it comes to anything related to the Wests Tigers

Yeah he did, but maybe he has learned the value in earning things down there. Not to say he couldn't have learnt that here, it may just be that needed to grow up a little.

Lets Go For JAC wants to come home and would love to be at Leichhardt and see him make a break again Al La Larry

Now that the LM thread is over, lets get this to close to 200 and fail.

Lets just do this all off-season to speed it up.

Can always leave Thommo at FB

Thommo is not a fullback. He's hopeless there. He's a good winger.

Michael Chammas reporting we are after JAC...

Most reputable journo out there, so i am stoked...

Hopefully we get this over the line

The Wests Tigers have turned their attention to Melbourne flyer Josh Addo-Carr after withdrawing their offer to Latrell Mitchell on Thursday morning.

Within hours of pulling the pin on their four-year deal with Mitchell, NRL.com can reveal the Tigers made enquiries with Addo-Carr's management about the prospect of bringing the international winger back to the club.

The Tigers, who grew frustrated with Mitchell's indecision about his future, are desperate to add some speed to their backline and have now identified Addo-Carr as their priority after Nine News reported on Wednesday night that he was meeting with Storm officials about a potential release from his remaining two years.

Addo-Carr is believed to be keen to return to Sydney due to personal reasons and made his NRL debut at the Tigers in 2016 before moving to Melbourne and establishing himself as a NSW and Australian representative.

He was also a member of the Storm's 2017 premiership-winning squad.

The Tigers are yet to make an official comment on their interest in Addo-Carr.

The club had offered Mitchell a lucrative three-year deal but have grown frustrated with the drawn-out negotiation process in the past few weeks.

The 22-year-old NSW Origin star, who is contracted to the Roosters for next season but can negotiate with clubs for 2021 and beyond, has been linked to several clubs this off-season.

The Roosters retracted their contract offer for Mitchell earlier this month
