Interesting reading in the article posted on LM contract discussion that he snubbed a meeting with Madge the straw that broke the camel's back,we have 1.5 m to go to the market and players have to say how they can help WT,s get to the semis and Also JAC is not on the radar (this could be a smoke screen) however it shows Madge is not going to sign a player to fill a hole and that the big C word comes in to play that strikes fear into most males COMMITMENT to the club and playing group.

MADGE HAS A PLAN.

I could be wrong, but I understand it was his manager that first postponed and then cancelled a meeting this week. That is what the club reacted to and pulled the contract accordingly.

The article which has been posted several times says That Mitchell refused to travel to Concord for a face to face meeting with Madge and goes on to say they hoped to sign him at the meeting.

Yes the article says that but that is coming from the journo, not Maguire. At no point is Maguire quoted as saying anything like that.

The inverted commas to me is that its the other persons words

Yes, quotation marks are just that, to indicate a quote. Maguire is quoted several times in the article but not the bit about Mitchell refusing to travel to concord, those are the journalists words not Maguires.

Sounds like Madge wanted to deal direct with Mitchell without his “management” getting in the way I.e. a man to man chat.

about time. These footy players need to stop wanting to be treated like they are wrapped in bubble wrap.....they've gotta grow the hell up.

I must admit I like JAC ......always has a smile on his face ....always good for a laugh in an interview ...seems like he is a family loving man

Great face of the club .....I'm just not into overspending on wingers .....450-500 k max ...only one winger I'd maybe go over that for would be Radradra ...only because he size to add to the speed

I just can't see JAC coming back

No, he won't. He's bloody good though, I'd break the $500K for him and I'd definitely break it for Radradra - he's an amazing weapon in attack and doesn't just park himself on the wing, he's an extra forward. Shame he won't be coming back to the NRL, he was good to watch.

Not with salary cap $$'s I wouldn't ....but if you couldn't find a TPA for JAC there is something wrong in the world

Semi won't be back ...I reckon some English ,French or Japanese rugby side will cough up a million for him

Can't post it but Storm CEO today stated JAC going nowhere and has committed to seeing out his contract. (Herald sun)

Probably why WT have said they're not chasing him.

I would suspect that will be the case. Hard to see the Storm letting him go and hard to see JAC dogging it.

So for 2020 season Farah has retired and we released Matterson and Marsters early, and have to date, not replaced them. 😂😂😂😂😂 gotta love "A favourable outcome"

Fake news as far as WT immediate requirements are concerned. Chasing him for high end $s ...... Would be worst decision then one which we just crawled out of.

Well initially we said Matterson was going nowhere as well, and if JAC wants out of Melbourne, as usual it maybe all up to his manager

Wouldn’t look too much into that - how many times has a club come out and said this then weeks later they’re gone

For gods sake even Masters came out and said he was committed and the media were making up BS then what happened.....

my point proven

@yeti not negative just realistic, storm wont release him from his contract as they have lost chambers and curtis scott and if they loose ado carr thats basically their whole backline. Storm are a smart club so i dont see them releasing him

Sadly this is probably the case. If they hadn't have lost those two, they may well consider letting JAC go, but they'd be mad to do so now. Plus he has 2 full years leftn his contract, not just 1.

If it could work out any other way and he was granted a release to come back here, I would be stoked! JAC is the player I most lament us losing, even more than Tedesco, because I could see that he was gonna be a star AND he actually wanted to stay here. I would be overjoyed to see him return an even better player than he was when he left.

So now that all the hype has died down, I guess WT will go back to chasing the likes of Milford and Moylan again? Either would be ok IF they played to their potential more than one game a year, but both are a big step down from the likes of Mitchell & Ado-Carr.
