Josh Mansour

Unlikely Penrith will re-sign him, JAC off to Storm means we need a winger.

Josh Mansour IMO is a player that can benefit us quite well, he's solid in defense, he's great in the air, he makes great metres through his hit-ups and runs the ball strongly!

I can't see it happening but would be a good signing.

What's your thoughts? Would you want him at the club?

If you were one of the best wingers in the competition, why would you join a team where you will never have a chance to win a premiership and will probably never play finals football?

Yep. Plus you can win a premiership and play finals footy here.

Mansour is 25, so you're telling me that you don't think we'll play finals from now to let's say 5 years.

If we play our cards right and start recruiting well, IMO 2-3 years we'll make top 4 and will be competing hard for a premiership.

I love your positivity but no, I think you're very, very wrong. Since inception in 2000 we have made the finals 3 times. 2005, 2010, 2011\. That's 3 times in 16 years. And we are in a worse state now than we ever have been. IMO in 2-3 years time we'll be languishing in the bottom few teams in the competition. I think in the next few years we have very little chance of making the top 8 and no chance of making the top 4.

As for recruiting well, we are a basket case with a negligent front office, hopeless coaching staff and a very, very ordinary playing group. If I were a good player that was off contract I wouldn't even consider coming to the Tigers…. have you noticed since 2011 we've had no marquee player signings?

Finally, Tedesco is off contract at the end of next year and if he has half a brain he'll go elsewhere. And where does that leave us? We'll be wooden spooners.

Awhh man, what a dream come true that would be.
This guy is THE BEST winger in the NRL.
Runs the ball like a forward.

Lose one Leb (Farah) and gain a new one (Mansour)
All for it. If possible.
500k though….?

Lose a whinger, gain a winger. Sounds good

Josh Mansour>>>>>>Wests Tigers yeah …nah :crazy

We can definitely offer him more game time than he's getting at the Cowboys

Panthers are pretty resigned to the fact they will lose him.

He is terrific at of DH, but has hands like feet, IMO not worth the price tag.

I would love Robert Jennings from the Panthers, he looks like being lost to them as well. He is IMO a top talent.

Penrith have a heap of talented players in their system, there will become some players available from there over the next year or so as they make room for their youngsters.

Do you realise how many times thats been said over the years?

This club is like a dodgy outdated computer that you keep re-booting in the hope that all of the gremlins that make it slow, frustrating, noisy and just plain crap will somehow all disappear.

All I ever hear is in two or three years time…...

I like Mansour as a player. For one, he has heart. Probably doesn't belong at this club.

The guys we have currently really should be able to switch on when the whistle blows, not switch off at 35 minutes, just dig in when things get tough and show some balls.

Whilst ever they're rewarded for their potential every week, we'll go nowhere.

And that's exactly how most fans like it I reckon.

We live in hope - not reality.

An interesting observation, and well said. Over the period of my participation in this forum I noticed just how often forum members (including me) used the word 'hope' in posts.
At about the time of all the Mick Potter noise I decided I would no longer use the 'H' word. It hasn't changed anything.
Another word you see repeatedly in the forum is delusional. Lets face it folks, we follow Wests Tigers, the word delusional is first in the WT supporters profile definition.

Our past management has been shocking, Grant Mayer can possibly be the worst CEO in the history of the NRL, I have faith in Pascoe and as I said "if we play our cards right" we can be successful, in the past we have failed with management but I'm confident Pascoe will do a good job.

Buckets I can't really say anything about as he hasn't really showed anything yet, but JT can piss off.

Becuase the bloody management sell you a story. They tell you that you could be part of something great. That your signature is just the start of a massive recruitment drive.

Look at Liverpool FC who are up the proverbial creek. A fabled club now destined to battle for mid-table scraps. Jurgen Klopp, their enigmatic manager was asked how he responds to players who tell him they won't join Liverpool because they want to play Champions League football. He sums it up beautifully:

"There are so many things you can do and reach if you go together with the team. You can qualify for the Champions League, (then) play Champions League, maybe win it or whatever. It is a much more satisfying thing than all the rest. That is what I would say. It is pushing the train, not jumping on the running train. That is what we need here."

Bravo.

So, if we can offer similar money and Mansour or any other player still prefers to play for a team like Melbourne or Roosters or Brisbane then good luck. If you don't buy into the vision then you aren't wanted.

PS we really need a visionary and inspirational coach who can make our players and fans dream.

This is the way I see it. Offer them a fair amount. If they won't come that is fine.

Mansour will end up at Easts for sure.

Lol, no doubt! They would still have plenty of room in their cap I'm sure :unamused:

Either there or the Gold Coast - seem to be the 2 destinations for marquee players the other teams can't afford or don't need.

Why be so stupid to spend 450k on a winger when we need strong aggressive forwards lets do it the West Tigers way spend 300K on a winger who is half as good as JAC that will be true to form for the West Tigers and get some retirement village forward and over pay Brooks and Moses thats sounds more like it

You my friend are an airhead, Addo-Carr is twice as good as Mansour you say.

Yeah you're right a player at the age of 20 and has played 4 games is twice as good as Mansour, if we had money Mansour would be a great buy to this club, I'm not saying it will happen but he would be a great signing, IMO we are short of one or two aggressive forward for our pack to be complete.

Maybe a Sio Siua Taukeiaho/ Kane Evans/ Luke Bateman type would be great.

Please read i dont say JAC IS TWICE AS GOOD.. Canberras offer was reported 450K for Mansour which he almost took you under stand that so far ….....But true Tigers style they will go out over pay for a winger 300K who will be half as good as A RAW YOUNG JAC
