All this negative press comes with being on the bottom of the table, they can not find anything positive so they write negative stuff and as the season rolls on their will be plenty more

Please Ms Go makes it easy for them … if you have nothing positive to add SAY NOTHING!

If diehard fans are feeling like this, how must the players feel. Remember, it's just a job for them.

I'd say the Tigers are at the end of the rope. If there is any further management instability and Go can't right the ship, then we are in further trouble.

Letting Te Martin go for 85k sounds pretty bad. I could see that the only way you could make that decision was

1) Te Martin was going to move on at the end of 2016 anyway
2) It was done in agreement with Brooks/Moses to remove their 2017 option.

I hope that at least both are true. Esp option 2\. Otherwise it's absolutely horrible decision.

The other argument is that if Te Martin isn't 'lost' to the Tigers. If we need him in 2 years time, we can always make him an offer and get him back. As long as the Tigers have done everything right by the kid. Maybe this was a favor to him? He will get a good place to develop his game and more money whilst we repair the cap.

You can't make decisions on what a player may or may not do in 2017\. Martin has signed with Penrith until the end of 2018 - by that time we won't be able to afford to buy him back. It was an inept decision made by a board who openly stated they had no football knowledge and said that they would allow all football related decisions be made by the football dept - they then overrule their decision. The sad part about all this is I bet the Wests board members would have voted to keep Martin - we will never know - but it shows that we still have a totally dysfunctional board.
It also shows what many had feared when the NRL effectively took control of the board - that WT are totally at the mercy of a board who are no more than puppets for the NRL.

That's IF (and its a big IF) Josh Massoud is on the money here.

He has been wrong plenty of times while speculating about player movements and rumours.

Wouldn't blame Marty for legging it either.

You wouldn't blame anyone for getting out….who wants to be involved with this clubs high amount of uncertainty in every aspect of the club..

Suddenly everyone starts taking gossip journalists as gospel?

If its true the other reason hammertime why they may have let Te go was cap space, pure and simple. If we have very very limited cap space for nexdt season and ahad a choice between re-signing Martin or Seve, and can only afford one, which do we choose?

We already have a gun young halves combo, and are severely lacking in centres. Maybe we chose Seve over Martin…?

Maybe Martin said he wanted gametime which we couldn't give him.

But in the end clubs shouldn't be losing star juniors for 85k. That's what Luani or Milone would be on and Martin has far more potential in his pink than those guys have in their entire careers.

I wouldn't be surprised if Marty was seeking a release. He'd be on minimum wage and he's practically carrying the side on his back with no reward. The club probably couldn't afford to pay him an extra cent next yr as an upgrade, so why wouldn't you want to look at your options if you were in his position.

Do you just copy and paste this everywhere you land?

I swear you must have posted this tired line in 4 or 5 separate threads now. You have no idea what Marty is on, you have no idea what he wants, you have no idea what he thinks he is worth at the end of his contract. Or enlighten me if you can quote the player himself, or even his manager.

It is entirely possible that Taupau is a key retention target for Tigers, that we know we signed him on a lesser deal in 2014 and we are creating space for an upgrade.

It's entirely possible that blokes like Austin and Martin are being let go because of the anticipated salary cap to be taken up by Marty Taupau.

As for listening to Josh Massoud, isn't this the same pelican who got turfed from the Tigers dressing room a few years ago after publishing negative press? Benji was with us at the time. DT-associated idiots like Massoud and Buzz just want to stir up Woman's Day-type rumour press, to agitate and sell stories to nitwits.

It's tiring, yet you find the time to always reply. Good one. What role at the club do you have I wonder to always be the knight in shining armour.

Relocation,Relocation,Relocation …..

That's what this article seems to lead to...financial mess, mismanagement, player disharmony and no player signings until 2017....

I certainly hope I'm wrong...if we are relocated because of the Independant board with the NRL influence,Rugby League will lose me forever....

At least you have given yourself 1.5 years to prepare….I reckon this is exactly what's going to happen.... That's what the NRL want but they won't publicly state this..the beginning of the end was the appointment of the "independent" NRL appointed board members

They move us to Perth, I'm out. Not doing that s*** again.

I have only followed one side of the venture and the club as is for my entire life …I have seen the worst of the lows and Highs .This year is the first year that I am waving ..pretty much over the club really ,I have as with many here tolerated the rubbish that the club has dished up over the years and the negative statement made by Go this week has really pushed me over the edge, there just seems to be no end to the incompetent running of the club.
I will say one thing if I am at this point the club HAS a major problem as I have been rusted on my entire life but have had enough time to put up or close up!!!!.

Sad… So sad... But true

What, so we would pay less for him if we had of kept him? Or the NRL gives Penrith more space under the cap? Your logic makes no sense.

I'm confident the board would have made a decision on recommendations from the Football department, not solo. If they have also recently found that the Football Dept cannot manage the cap, they might have added their involvement.

… don't get me started about leagues club board members (not just wests). They've really delivered over the years huh? Their ineptitude is what has landed us in the situation. So while you say they would have voted for him to stay, their inability to provide proper governance over the organisation for the past 10+ years has lead to us to a desperate situation of needing to save pennies on a salary cap like this!

We should give this board some time before questioning their decisions. God knows the prior guys have had a good run and failed miserably.

It's a "tired line", as in it's a worn-out comment.

Not tiring to me, I appear to have near limitless energy to respond to idle speculation and scaremongering.
