Iam aware that you see a lot of the state cup games GEO,you also provide good info on players etc…
my question is ..if Reynolds was not injured wouldn't he be an automatic selection in reggies or is that not how it works???

He is not injured, he was 18th man for 1st grade which meant he missed out on playing in the Canterbury Cup.

Sorry ck,was feeling out of sorts the other night and was being a bit narky

No problems at all mate, we all have our moments.
I know your going through some tough times looking after your missus and can’t imagine how you must feel sometimes.
All the best to you both , always enjoy your posts.

Thanks cochise,it doesn't seem right that a player of Joshes calibre, especially a marquee player cant get a run when not injured..

It's hard, as your primary focus as an NRL coach is winning first grade and keeping Josh as a fresh backup in case of an injury during warmup is probably your best chance of achieving that win. You have to counter though what the lack of game time does to that 18th man's fitness if you keep choosing the same guy for that role. I would hope that the 18th man spot maybe shared around to allow those fringe players to get a game in to stay sharp!

Hi cochise…I know you explained to me about the 18th man in the nrl side and that's why Josh Reynolds couldnt play in the Canterbury Cup last week, however I have read both the sides for this week and Reynolds isn't listed in either,is he injured or will he likely be a late inclusion in the CC side..?

seems strange that a marquee player cant get a run when he dearly needs match fitness...

Reynolds was cut from the 21 this week unlike last week where he remained the non playing reserve

Canterbury Cup final teams only need to be announced 1 hr prior to kick off..I'm expecting both Reynolds and Eisenhuth will play today

Cheers Geo…I hope Reynolds plays well and gets some confidence again…

As @geo has said he has been released from any commitments to the first grade side for today.

He will play today, if he is left out today there is something seriously wrong with his position at our club and I doubt he will be here much longer.
