It will be interesting to see how long before WT put a statement up on the website. It usually takes a little time to wordsmith it, pass it by legal and then pass it by the NRL but if it takes too long it's not a good look. Will also be interesting to see whether he's stood down.

Why would he be stood down? He swore at someone...Fox catches players swearing in the games all the time.

Swearing in your own home is not a sackable offence.

This woke revolution is getting out of hand.

Honestly you’re missing the point heaps.

I should stress I haven’t seen the video and really don’t want or need to see it. But, if it’s as reported earlier in this thread I can’t see how the alleged behaviour frees up $750k or whatever JR is on per season. The behaviour as reported is crass and boorish but not criminal in its own right. The other matter before the courts could potentially result in a criminal conviction. Happy to hear I’m wrong but I can’t see how we’re $750k better off at this point.

Agree... stupidity rules the NRL. He may not ever play another game for us but we’ll still be paying his salary that entire time. Thanks Iv... thx a lot

No his contract would be null and void.

Only if guilty on original charge, which is exactly the point I’m making, you need to question and decipher the motive’s behind any choice to release this video publicly and how it hasn’t already surfaced, or what J.R may indeed be hiding in his defence for a day in court!

I won’t comment again as I’m totally uninformed on the actual issue and how this may make it much worse for him. Feelsbadman

Doesn’t need to be criminal. Can be behaviour detrimental to the profitably of the club etc. by my count this is his 3rd incident, I doubt he will still be a tiger in the coming weeks

If you're correct I hope the NRL back WT up by freeing up the cash. Unless the contract is rock solid on behavioural issues I can't see how we can get rid of him without a payout.

That is intimidation, she is clearly scared and he threatens to 'flip'. That is domestic violence.

The amount of victim blaming on here without any of us knowing the context is a little concerning....

I'm not making any judgement

As I or we do not know the whole story

Please. I'm the last person you'd accuse of being "woke". Besides woke is a term you use to criticise someone when you don't know the correct words to use. I'm only asking whether he'll be stood down not saying he should be.

Probably about the right response in the right time.

I just read your previous post about it being his 3rd incident.

Look fair enough...it can be spun as an "incident", but my argument is that this doesn't constitute an "incident" in the first place. I know it will be perceived that way, but I think it's unfair and he'd be right to feel ripped off.

Back to back issues with females in a short space of time, in the current climate, will probably see him made an example of no matter how innocuous the issue is.

It's a very bad look for someone waiting to front court on domestic violence charges. Domestic violence can be as much verbal as physical and some of the language used was very threatening.

Neither the club or the NRL can tolerate this.

Honestly, you're an absolute clown. Big statements that constantly get retracted.

"No further comment" to me means no further action, sacking or payout until at lest the court hearing scheduled for August.

Sorry mate...I wasn't accusing you of being woke.

I was saying that it's sad, in general, that our minds go immediately to the possibility of sacking a guy for something so small if a woman is involved.

Apologies if it came across the wrong way.

...to be fair what JR has done was far worse than Carney when he got sacked by Cronulla.

In the current climate, tigers Or any club can’t tolerate it. Zane got deregistered for 12 months for ripping off a front gate in his tirade. The video hurts especially when he has stated I’ve never been aggressive towards a woman ever

Judging by the WT statement it looks like this is part of the earlier incident that is already with Police and the Courts, and isn't a new incident. Nothing to see here folks. Untwist those knickers and move along.

Yeah if your thinking straight the simple response is you tell the person they are trespassing and you will call the police

Judging by the club statement this video was from the same incident afew months back and not a new incident. Looks like the club is still sticking by him until the court settles it. I dont have a problem if thats the case, we haven't heard the full story.
