Hi - Hull FC fan here in peace!

Obviously Hodgson has come over to start coaching us, and rumours are that we have be signing Josh Reynolds as well to play 5/8.

What are your thoughts on him? He has been around the NRL now for a while, but couldn't really remember his qualities, or how he plays at 5/8. Is he a runner, can he put players through gaps?

He is a competitor and would be great in esl, he gets under his opponents skin a lot, similar style to Blake Austin also has a great combination with Russel Packer and Moses Mbye all of whom can come as a package.

The 'Big 3' as a package deal...what a beaut idea @Tigerstar .

He’s got a great style for England. All energy, running the ball and will work his butt off. Not as skilful as other halves but he’ll make up for it in energy.

Will be one of the better players over there.

Wonder if he’ll go over though. Didn’t he turn down some offers from England already? He’s got a new Mrs who has a kid and a business too. Maybe Hodgo will be the deciding factor

Yeah I doubt it, hopefully things turn out better for him this time around in his personal life. No one deserves what he has been through.

JRey is actually one of my fav players, hes had a tough upbringing andnis all heart.

He just hasnt had the luck here.

He would kill.it in ESL

Josh is a far better player then Jackson Hastings with more skill and determination
Would be a great pick up for you guys

That is a very good point.

Reynolds is good. He will kill it in ESL. If Jackson Hastings can win a Man of Steel, Josh Reynolds will walk it in. His only problem with the Tigers, and why fans are indifferent to him, is that he has been injured for a huge portion of his tenure, while also being on an expensive contract.

In season 2020, we played our best football when Reynolds was our 5/8 partnered with Brooks. He goes so well when there is a dominant halfback and he is able to pick his moments. Can win you games where your forward pack doesn't dominate. His energy inspires others. Loves an early kick when the team have been under pressure.

Iregs 16, thanks for asking mate!
He brings a lot of energy to the team, should do really well in SL.
We also have a no nonsense prop and a surly centre who can (when he wants to ) turn a game.
All three have the same manager if you’re interested in buying in bulk?

We have a 7 who controls the game and dictates play quite well, good kicking game, so should allow JR to just pick and choose his moments. We also have a player called Jake Connor, who is a fantastic talent, and seems to have found his position at Full Back so he might compliment him quite well

JR has done literally nothing since joining WT's :joy: :joy:

He's been either injured or suspended most of his stay here and has built a nice property portfolio as a result.

Can't comment whether he'd go well over there. Too small a sample size. However I do hear he likes the cold weather, so that's a bonus...

There was one memorable game against South Sydney where his KICKING game was the best I ever seen. Too bad it had nothing to do with the football.

We love him ..best 6 since Wally Lewis I've seen ...he will be sadly missed ....don't go Josh please ...sniff sniff .wahhhhhhhhhhhh

In all seriousness, he's been plagued with injuries and has had some (very high-profile) personal dramas so couldn't understand why he didn't take the opportunity to go over to ESL.
This year was a lot better for him - physically - and he seemed to come through the other stuff.
He's not too bad and really didn't make the team due to Benji's selection. But think his NRL playing days are numbered. Just think he's never really evolved so he could really play to his strengths - whatever they may be. And I don't mean that as a dig, we've seen very little of him in our colours tbh.
Like others have said, he's overenthusiastic and great with motivating the team. Loves to niggle and will always try.
I know things haven't gone too good for him since he's signed with us, yet I'd like to see him get a chance to show what he can bring to a team. He's of good character and a strong team leader, so here's hoping he can help out a team that could use his services, as It's unfortunate that he doesn't really fit into our plans.

Madge goes on about culture,he is so right. We had it when we won the GF.They were a tight group.Storm have it in spades, they go out together and are like a familey.Gibson did it with Easts,he constantly had players and partners at bbqs and functions together to build that culture.I like to think the WT;S follow the same path.

I can absolutely understand why players, Josh and Benji, don’t want to go to Covid ravaged and infected England. There is not enough money in the world that would get me any where near England, Europe or the US at the moment.

Is this documented in any media? I’m going to throw a party if JR is on the move 🤞

Brent Read published this but it was more opinion than anything:

Reynolds may be back in Super League sights

Brett Hodgson and Hull FC are clearly looking to make a big splash with a marquee signing. Having missed out on Benji Marshall, there would appear few options left.

Perhaps Josh Reynolds will come back on the radar. A few months ago, when there was talk about Reynolds leaving the Tigers with one year remaining on his deal, Super League was mooted as a potential destination.

Hodgson knows Reynolds well. He has been on the coaching staff at the Tigers in recent years, a time when injury has often curtailed Reynolds.

There is a school of thought that when fit, he is the sort of player who would take Super League by storm in much the same way that Blake Austin did when he went overseas.

It would be no surprise if Hodgson looked his way.

Connor looks talented. Good passing and running game.

We need a full back and you need a 5/8. I think we could suggest a swap - Connor for JRey.
