Junior Pauga

That Junior Pauga play absolutely summed us up.

Firstly, a Z grader is our depth. No NRL size or skill. Recruitment fail. Plays badly in a state cup team beaten by 100s past few weeks...finds himself in first grade.

Secondly, zero IQ as to what to do. Dumb team.

Thirdly, no one gave him a verbal for being so casual. Sam Walker copped it from JWH and Radley two weeks ago over a missed opp. We have no leaders.

Fourthly, a game that is won with a pen to lead by 8...we lose in the last min.

Honestly, that one play sums up the last few yearss.

We should title 2020-2022 the Pauga era.

Everything wrong with us in a single play.

And I don't even mean to single him out. He is not alone. But his moment captures everything wrong with the club.

He was fine until that mistake and let's be honest we should have won that game despite that mistake.

I don't want to focus on him.

Yeah, thought he played well sans
The brainfart at the end there.

He's not solely to blame for that
Loss, nor is Kepaoa by any stretch.

I am not even blaming him...it is just a series of compounding errors that led to him even being there.

hes not even depth he wasnt in our top 30 To'a was
and honestly for a reserve grader i thought he did ok
That is my point though...he is not a reserve grader. He is terrible at that level.

Watch Penrith's state cup and they have bulldozers everywhere in their backline. All vastly better than Pauga.

Surely we could have offered one a chance at some point.

We don't just need new players for the NRL in 23...we desperately need a decent state cup team, who apply pressure and can come in and do jobs.

AJ would be dropped for a month for his four brain farts today by Bennet or Bellamy. Learn the game = reggies.

For us, he will be an automatic pick and is already banking his extension.

What does pathways even mean. Why was Junior Paula even playing. Kepoa is just typical of what we’ve got- a dumbarse
Pauga is not a pathways player.

He is a QLD state cup player who failed to make it anywhere by 25....

And somehow we called him up and made him our outside back depth.

He was not even a standout in QLD cup.

So many dumb players and the discipline is so bad. I don't think they understand it's professional sport.
The problem is there are no ramifications.

Bennet is known for sending players to reserves for a month and not even saying a word...i.e. go work it out if you ever want to come back.

Ours make incredibly dumb plays / zero footy IQ plays week after week and get extensions and NRL spots automatically.

No one has to learn their lesson...

I was thinking the same thing. They have to realize that as a club we have standards. If you don't meet those standards you don't play first grade.
Sadly, our standard is basically "you will be an automatic starter for years to come" if you extend...

The answer to both is 'can't sign decent players'.

This is funny but I've sort of accepted it. Pauga to me isn't an issue. Pathways though are a recognition that we can't recruit players.

That game though to me showed that our biggest issue is dumb players.

Our squad is poor and we've given players away. It's not an excuse but that is what Sheens has done.

If Nofo and Gildart were here does Pauga play ? Do we lose that game ? Would Luc have made a difference ?
