I’m not a lawyer – but can someone please tell us why Farah & Woods can’t play this weekend considering our injury crisis for the sake of a dead rubber in the origin series. And we’ll be so kind as to send them back into the battle for the dead rubber barring INJURY. The replacement hooker is a passenger at best – it’s getting depressing when he is in the team because it’s the looming of another loss. What do we have to look forward to this week with the standing down of 2 healthy players in an injury ridden team, losing the game just to satisfy Bob Fulton, Laurie Daley and their cronies. At this point in the game the 2 points is damn more important than a dead rubber.
There must be a clause.
It’s bloody ridiculous.

Hard to disagree. I believe the State of Origin series should be like the NHL final series. They play best of seven. As soon as team gets 4 wins then that's it. If NSW or QLD win the first two then the third should be scrapped.

For most NRL fans there is more interest in this weekend's NRL matches than a dead State of Origin rubber. However the persuasion for abstaining Origin players from weekend so as to play on the following Wednesday would be coming from Channel 9 whose financial interest the NRL seems committed to protect.

Yeah I agree, especially considering everyone in Rugby League has been so concerned about SOO taking too much of a toll on the players and wanting a stand alone series. If the series has already been won, why continue disrupting the rest of the season and risking serious injuries to players?

All the other clubs have dealt with this. Imagine the qld clubs. We only worried bout. 2 players. Or the alternative not having any rep players at all ??

And they have a whole lower grade comp to choose players from.

QLD should be deducted 10 points a year….just cause.

People are being selfish from a wests tigers point of view (we need woods & farah more than ever ) after yesterday's increased injury toll . I bet if you asked woods & farah they'd be chomping at the bit to finish off the series with a 3-0 white wash !
