Hopefully the players are unhappy with the way they are performing, I would be upset if they were not unhappy about that.

Actually that cliche is a scientific fallacy. Several things can generate smoke without there being any fire.
Dissatisfaction amongst the playing group with their collective effort thus far is to be expected. That's no scandal.
