JV or Wests Tigers

Avoiding the inevitable is what's held this club( Wests Tigers) back.Moving forward with 2 drivers going in opposite directions was always going to cause a crash.BANG it's here.

If Wests take over the running of the club than so be it.

However if Balmain don't have a say in how the club is run than the 'Tigers' goes with them.

Its a very large part of what makes the Wests Tigers and it came from the Balmain Tigers!

Call me a dinosaur buts its a fact and should never be forgotten.

Let Wests see how they go without the 'Tigers'. That brand comes with a cost and that cost is a say in how the clubs run!

If Balmain did go (and I doubt it) it would be interesting to see if they could legally take back their part in the entity.

It's pretty obvious that now that Balmain has hit some tough times there are plenty from the Wests side of the divide hoping to get rid of the 'Tigers' in WestsTigers.
Regards a victim mentality, all I've heard for 15 years is how there's too much talk about Balmain, we still get called Balmain sometimes, there's not enough white in the jersey and the perennial… the magpie is too small.

Well a fellow forumer posted on another thread with inside knowledge that with the nrl on board now that there will be a big push for the team to be more western Sydney centric and that they will take the hit with crowd numbers etc. Make of that what you will but if Roy Masters is publishing stories along the same lines then that's where we're heading. (I know he is old wests so he would know something we wouldn't or he could be pushing his barrow)

The old 'Wests' was Ashfield. It hasn't been 'west' in anyone's definition for 30+years.

If we move further west from our heart land (Balmain and Ashfield) it will impact dinosaurs from both camps.

We can all see that the club long term needs to have a more Western syd focus. The trick will be keeping both nurseries.

For the record balmain did give the JV extra money to assists WM in the first 3 yrs and thats in my opinion what should have occured considering we merged to save each other from extinction. Wests have recoverd well abd balmain have stuffed up and Its a shame that some fail to acknowledge this

Secondly glad to hear you would love to see balmain survive because although we enjoy a battle on this forum i can assure you i would never want to see Wests or any remaining sydney club become another Norths!!!

Tottie there is no truth in Balmain covering Wests and WT in the first 3 years. If you have proof I'd like to see it. What I understand is WT blew $8 Million in the first 3 years of the JV, that money was from the NRL to start the JV. Question is, who was in charge and irresponsible to blow these funds?
