Kassidy Grant

Now from what I remember about Moneyball, one of their key criteria was that “ he gets on base a lot” which shows he can hit and run.
Equating that to NRL I’m thinking “ he breaks tackles and makes ground”is similar, and sounds logical. So i guess if Kassidy can identify all the available players in the league who
can satisfy the necessary criteria eg makes yardage, completes tackles, line breaks, kicking in general play etc etc then I can see the logic.
So is that what she does ? Or only analysing our existing players ? If that’s it she is just another coach.
Maybe I’m being too simplistic and someone can explain it to me, like I’m a 10yo ?

There are other not as common ways to get on base… walks (four balls) and if the ball hits you amongst others … not just the obvious way of hitting the ball and running to the base … they were looking beyond the obvious that some others may not consider …getting onto base is what the game is about , if you can’t get on base and then score runs you can’t win the game

I take your point TS, and understand the vagaries of baseball. I was just generalising about whether Ms Grant is doing a league wide player analysis or just an in house one.

I would be hoping she has data on all NRL players from every team.
1. Best & Weakest tackle (L/R Shoulder) slide or rush in.
2. Ball carry (L/R)
3. Sidestep (yes/no)
To name a few
