KEITH GALLOWAY MAKES MEMORABLE TEST DEBUT

Wests Tigers prop Keith Galloway made a memorable Test debut in Australia’s 42-6 win over New Zealand at Ausgrid Stadium, Newcastle, today.

Wearing jersey number 15, Galloway scored a try in the 63rd minute when he crashed over under the posts with Wests Tigers team-mate and New Zealand Captain Benji Marshall clinging high to prevent the try.

Galloway made his first touch in the green and gold colours when he entered the field in the 16th minute off the interchange bench.

It was also a very enjoyable Test match for Wests Tigers and Australian left centre Chris Lawrence, scoring two tries.

Lawrence’s first try came in the 20th minute when he finished off a play involving Johnathan Thurston, Darius Boyd and Luke Lewis to score behind the posts.

His second try in the left corner came after good lead up work by Thurston, Billy Slater and Tony Williams. Lawrence even had a short spill late in the game at five-eighth.

It was a just reward for Lawrence after suffering a serious hip injury earlier in the year that could have sidelined him for the season.

Marshall tried hard for the Kiwis and pulled off a trysaving tackle on big Australian second-rower Tony Williams.

Wests Tigers Captain Robbie Farah watched the match on the sidelines behind Wests Tigers and Australian Coach Tim Sheens. New Wests Tigers football manager Bryan Hider was also involved in the win as a trainer for Australia. The match was also Kangaroos Captain Darren Lockyer’s final Test match on Australian soil.

Australia and New Zealand will now prepare for the Four Nations tournament in England later this month against England and Wales.

Earlier in the day, promising Wests Tigers half-back Jacob Miller and prop Matthew Groat represented the Junior Kangaroos. Second-rower Ben Murdoch-Masila wore the Junior Kiwis colours. The Junior Kiwis won 28-18.

I didn't know Hider was back with us, didn't he retire a few years back?

On Galloway - he didn't look out of place did he?

Yeah I thought he retired after GF ??
Suppose it is a different role now Helmesy

Big Keith. Imagine if he was good enough to play for NSW. How good could the blues be then?

But I suppose Bozo, Daley and Co know how to pick a good side….....ahem

WELL DONE KEITH.

I agree he should be one of the first picked for the blues but his form at the start of the year wasnt as devastaing as it has been in the last two-three months

KG seems to be running harder then before perhaps due to more self belief. He doesn't seem to hesitate or brace himself before contact like he has done in past seasons.
What I like most about Galloway is his ability to not get owned in a 1 on 1 tackle, a la Moi Moi the other day (except for the time Hoppa took his head off)
Keefy is indestructible!

I think he was the trainer in 2005.
Could be a good omen now that he's back.

I hope now Kieth finally shows what he has got ..seems to have been in second gear , now performing well at international level this could be the catalast for him to finally cement himself as one of the top props in the competition.
