What is it with Wests Tigers and signing SLOW wingers

After seeing what he did in the first half you would think he was a bit S-L-O-W between the ears as well.

Nice to have someone safe under the high ball on that left wing. Runs the ball up like a good front rower.

I think an off season with Madge will do him wonders. Needs to get to know his team and get a bit fitter.

Madge must've got up him and it worked, credit where credit is due was a different bloke in the second half

Maumalo expecting emotional encounter against former club

Wests Tigers recruit Ken Maumalo is expecting an emotional encounter when he faces his former club, the Warriors, for the first time on Friday night.

The big winger joined Wests Tigers just over a month ago after 107 NRL games across seven seasons for the Warriors.

“It’s going to be a big match playing against my old team,” Maumalo said.

“It’s going to be a different experience. I played with a lot of them for many years, through the juniors. It’s going to be an emotional game for me.

“We’re friends off the field, but it’s a different story on the field. I’m just looking forward to it.”

Maumalo also understands the Round 20 clash at Suncorp Stadium will be an emotional evening for his former team as they farewell club legend Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

The former skipper won’t be in attendance at the match as he returns to New Zealand to beat the border closure ahead of his conversion to rugby union.

“I think they’ll want to send off Roger on a high note,” Maumalo said.

“I reckon they’ll turn up for the game and show what Roger meant to the club and the team. I’m expecting a big one.”

The Wests Tigers winger was looking forward to taking the field with Tuivasa-Sheck for one last time but wished his New Zealand counterpart all the best.

“It sucks he has to go out this way, but I guess under the circumstances we’re in at the moment, it was best for him to go home,” Maumalo said.

“He’s going to leave a massive legacy on New Zealand rugby league.

“I messaged him and said I’m excited for him to get back to his family and wished him all the best for next year.”

Of course, silly me.

He has his flaws as a player but he seems like a quality bloke. He has his positives as a player as well.

Ebbs and Flows galore while Madge continues to look for men whilst picking Mbye and Lucy to play in the team he purports to coach. Don’t ask me in what areas he does coach them because they don’t look very well organised!

Yes he is just a PRO... Just does his job and does it very well. For a big guy he is excellent under the high ball, Makes great meters but most of all he can finish a TRY off like a great winger does.

I regret what I said about him in that Brisbane game. He has come good. It didn't take him long. As @hsvjones said, "he is just a pro... Just does his job and does it very well." Sums it up well. He made his try look easy, when most of our wingers have struggled to finish off those ones. He gives our playmakers more confidence, that they can give him the ball in a bit of space and he might be able to make something of it.

He looked very strong tonight.
Impressive.

His inside man deserves a wrap too.
Mr. Reliable, MCK.

Looked pretty average when he first came across but he's really found his feet now. He's strung together two of the best performances by a winger we have had in a long time.
