AJ was OK today. Dropped one ball that was deflected off a leg. Yes he should have caught it but many others would have dropped that one as well.

He also 'completely' missed a cross field kick...and struggled to hold a few simple ones. Reality is his hands are bad, I don't think we can dispute that.

The question is thus do we want to let him learn and improve in firsts? Or have a month or two in state cup to learn his trade?

Same question as Talau.

If it's firsts, we pretty much are saying no to the top 8 as there is no way a talau AJ edge is getting a team to the finals in 2021.

Do we carry them so they can learn? Or give this season a red hot go?

I was very critical of AJ in the first two rounds, he should have been replaced then. Today he was OK. He only dropped one, that very few would have caught. If there was someone better to replace him then we should but the wing stocks are thin at the moment. With all that in mind I think AJ will be there next week, but only the coach knows for sure.

We don't carry them we have a crack, but I am saying if you only drop one, drop Talau, but if they drop 2, I am comfortable with that also

I am fairly sure Madge will pick him Mike. He was terrible weeks one and two, as you eluded to, and Madge stuck.

I doubt we see him dumped after a mediocre to average game now.

The worry for me is the Cows backs have been outclassed for ages now...but v AJ and Talau, they would actually have a shot of matching up.

Talau back to the wing, BJ in the centres only possible solution. We have no depth.

If Mbye goes to the cowboys I’d be trying to get Feldt or Hamiso. Would greatly improve the team.

He's definitely a weak-link. However, I do like his physicality and does seem to bring the ball out of our own half very strongly. I think he struggles to understand the game still..

That being said, we have just had 5-6 tries a game scored on us for the last 6 months or so- a winger is not your biggest problem.

HIs hands are bad certainly, but what’s with his competing for a bomb without watching the ball. He’s done it a few times- what is going on there? I don’t get it because he really is not looking at the ball!!

Hands like feet but he runs harder than some of our well paid forwards.

His hands were fine today, the problem was Talau

Talau should have put him away 2-3 times. Dare I say it, Joey Leilua would have executed at least 2 of them.

Yup. Leilua is rocks or diamonds. Problem is, his rocks are boulders. He is his own worst enemy that guy.
If we are talking about potential, well honestly Tommy doesn’t come anywhere near BJs potential. He can’t match the skill set, especially for a man of that size; the explosive power and good hands.

... sorry to digress just there.. I agree with the OP.
Surely give someone else a go?! How much worse could he be?

Pretty rough calls on both Talau and AJ to be dropped, don’t think they had a bad game. Aj has strong carries but needs to work on his eye coordination skills. As for Talau I don’t think we are using him right, put him in space with momentum that’s when he is at his strongest! I’ve noticed we are very one outs in attack and kinda just pass Talau and the jet the ball when nothing is on and expect them to do something.

Kepoa is Kaput. Replace with Tommy Talau at wing. MBye to centre. Simpkins and BJ into the 14 =17.

BJ is not ready to come back

I don’t think AJ is our answer at wing but I thought Talau played worse yesterday. Very disappointing.

We need a winger and another centre imo.

Our flat attack allowed the Parra defence to be in Talau' s face all day. I thought he was totally ineffective but the men inside him gave him no chance.

Isn't the intention to get our youngsters up to speed in the NRL? They will not learn in NSW Cup! Dare I write but Simpkin may make errors when promoted but isn't that part of learning?

Leilua is very likely to be playing somewhere iin 1st grade this week.

I am hoping we have seen the last of him. If we want to become a force he cannot be in plans moving forward.
