KEVIN WALTERS AS WT COACH?

Would love to see him as coach with knowledge of both the old and modern games and especially the QLD team ethics…
That is the type of coach we need...
Opinions?????

It's a nice idea and he could probably offer plenty here, but JT is here for a long while yet.

I think we need a tested, good, coach. Someone the players respect and will expect to do good for them.

We need to go all out for Bellamy at the end of next year imo. Whatever it takes.

If he didn't want to come here over 10 yrs ago as an unknown, there's no chance he'll come as one of the most premier coaches in the comp.

Agree, we need a coach with passion , one who's prepared to have a rant , and a coach who can get the best out of the team .
Not a coach that blubbers his way through post match pressers , calls radio stations to justify himself or don't care about results ..
Taylors a joke and a bad one at that !

tooves??

could be on the outer.

but theyll most likely stick with JT a bit longer, cant go changing coaches every year like parra.

JT needs to be given a fair go with his own roster. He has inherited a pretty average roster with the bulk of the experience gone.

The issue here though is that we don't look to be signing anyone for 2016…so it won't be until 2017 before he can build his own roster.

JT deserves his 3 years to see how he goes. A coach is only as good as the roster they have. I don't expect miracles but I do expect passion. Walters is untried as a coach and I doubt he has the discipline to do any better than the current coaching staff.

Give JT his 3 years and if he hasn't performed then look for alternatives.

Tigers management had Walters believe he had the job before Potter was appointed. He still has a sour taste about how it was handled(lack of communication)so I doubt he would contemplate coming to the Tigers unless the renumeration was attractive. If you were looking at someone from the Qld coaching staff it would have to brains of the operation Michael Hagan. A good coach can lead develop & inspire his team by working with the resources they are given. The best teams don't always win the comp. Whilst you are entitled to your opinion I couldn't disagree more.

Whoever comes in will need a good roster to work with, is our recruitment structure capable of delivering this and do we have the people at Concord able to gather the necessary funds from sponsors and 3rd party rorts to attract a couple of quality and experienced first graders to compliment/lead what we have? It will take more than just a coach.

Some Sensible comments above, Punting JT is not the answer.

Yet another new coach is not the answer here.

Even Parra are deciding to stick with their current coach. They seem to be learning that stability is important.

There are so many factors that impact the success on the park of a football team,

JT is the right type of coach for us, he is changing years of poor culture and needs to be respected through our support,

I will keep the faith

Where's Jack Gibson?
The only top coach who ever went to under achieving clubs

He may not have won premierships everywhere he went but he made a difference. Improved players. Improved setups.

That's why you will never see a Bellamy or a Bennett here.

Oh and Gibson brought in raw talent and they blossomed.
Taylor? pphhtt.

I think we can do better in the form of an assistant coach. Kidwell has been in charge of defence and we all know how that's going. JT is not the answer as head coach but I feel we are stuck with him for a while!. Maybe with some good assistance JT will do ok?

I think its clear this club needs an established coach with the stature that commands respect from all facets within the game.

We really need a Tim Sheens MkII to come in to do what he did in 2003.

Mick's management of people isnt that great… Both the Hagan boys are straight-shooters and they arent interested in playing 'the game' or being political correct.

The reason Michael was happy to walk away from Parra was he couldnt believe the politics and power the players were gifted by the boards and sponsors. [Sounds Familiar?]

He is a great tactician though, and would be awesome as an Assistant Coach. The biggest challenge would be getting him to give up his golf!

Not sure why we are discussing this at least 18 months too early apart from novelty value and because there is nothing to discuss because of the bye.

Taylor is signed until the end of 2017 - so we need a new coach for 2018, maybe.

Walters in my opinion is not as good a coach as Taylor - nor was he a better player.
He has been around the traps for donkeys - notice how he has been snapped up.

The point is with the current players we have - no other coach could do any better than JT.
If you think Bellamy or Bennett would come here you are having yourself on.
They do not want to have to work for their reputation. Bellamy has it easy at the Storm.
When Bennett tried something like we would be asking - he failed miserably at the Knights.

It is easy to coach if you have the roster. The trick is to do some good without one or any coin to build one.

Lets talk about this - same time in 2017 if I'm still breathing.
