Kicking game

We need to get it sorted and quickly or we are in BIG trouble imo, our kicking game borders on crap most days but now with Lui gone and Robbie on one leg (possibly gone) and Benji who imo should rarely kick the ball he's that bad we will struggle to win a game.
I know the players we lost are going to be hard to replace but our attack is going to take a long time to get going, probably until the injured players return. I just can't see where our points come from atm and for the next 6-10 rounds, but i think if we can sort our kicks out it will help us hang in.

agreed. our enthusiasm is ok and we are still getting decent field position at times, however our kicking game is killing us. i dunno what the answer is either…can miller kick in general play..if so, give him a full game and see what happens...

Who will kick in general play? Miller perhaps if he starts in the run on team? The injuries coupled with this issue of the kicking game and the general unsettledness of the team presents a real challenge for Sheens over the ensuing weeks to ensure some wins so as not to lose touch with the top 8 teams.

I think Benji needs to be out no 1 kicker so long as he looks to run it instead of kick it. He does come up with poor kicks but he mixes it up with good ones. I trust him more that the other options.

I don't think that our general kicking game was the problem today however. We were simply ordinary all over the park.

yeah it was garbage, we had opportunities but could not apply pressure. Our only try came off because of 1 good kick that allowed us to build pressure, yet we could only manage to do this once. Not good enough and it hasn't been good and consistant for a while.

Agree, our 2 losses have been due to poor kicking, we actually kicked reasonably well in rounds 2 and 3 (warriors was only just reasonably well however) and we won both games
we kick poorly in games 1 and 4 and get done, it really is that simple!

Defense was not great either gave up too much easy yardage and our halves and dummy half did not play smart footy

um our kicking game in patches yesterday was probably the best its been all year. marshall found open space a number of times.. moltzen kicked from behind the 40 and put that much weight behind it, that it rolled over the deadball line and then some..

the kick chase was also 10 times better than it has been in previous weeks.
