So today the team was notified that no games were to be played - all cancelled. Not because the wild and rubbish weather, but because the field was covered in broken glass. You can only shake your head and wonder wtf goes through the minds of some.

That's shocking , absolute wankers !

Thats pretty poor, kids look forward all week to getting to play footy on the weekend only to have it called off due that is a real shame for the kids.

My young fella plays under 9s in the canberra comp and last week I had to go around the ground and remove dog crap off the field, disgusting if your gunna take your dog for run on sporting fields then surely you can pick up the crap imagine what the backyard must look like.

Then today had the pleasure of a 9am kick off in sunny Cooma, arrived at 815am to a barmy -7.3 luckily by kickoff it was only -5.4\. Boys did well with an 18 all draw , goal kicking let us down 1 from 4 opposed to 3 from 3\. A good result as neither team deserved to loose a game in those conditions.

My young fella plays under 11's ( Blue Mountains ).

All games were washed out this week , my young fella was spewing !
Dad missed out on a sausage & Bacon sanger !
Most councils these days are precious to say the least in regards to their sporting fields (we are) .
People who let their dog crap on the fields should have their face rubbed in it IMO .
And tossers that smash bottles on the playing grounds or anywhere for that matter should be locked up !

Hopefully it was an away game? Had some interesting characters rock up at Willagee before but nothing that bad.

There's inconsiderate jerks the world over I guess. Allowing your dog to poop on a sports field, well, that's just ordinary. You blokes out Canberra/Cooma way are tough buggers playing in those conditions. That's brutal. Great effort by the kids and the mum's and dads.

Felt sorry for the boys but they all dug in and we just kept telling them to keep moving etc and that if they stand still theyll freeze, was good that 14 of the 16 made the trip so a big thumbs up to the parents would have been very easy just to stay home. I know i could have, up at 530 am to go to footy get home before coming into work 1800 till 0600hrs, tried to get a snooze in the arvo but with 3 kids running around the house makes tough only 5 hrs till home and looking forward to bed hopefully the wife puts my electric blanket on for me!!

All excited for the footy today 4 games all up today

Good trip from Happy Rock and we were all having a few drinks in the coaches room to all start getting messages from Gladstone

Appears a hail storm hit Gladstone yesterday afternoon and happy has left the car out

Have a good weekend all Go the WTs

Boys are going ok they are 2 wins and three losses the only bad loss being to the Mackay Wests Tigers

Two one point losses killed us

Everyone is having a ball and the boys are battling on

Game 1 lost 3-2

Game 2 won 6-2

Game 3 lost 7-1

Game 4 lost 6-5

Game 5 won 5-2

Cheers Happy

Game 6 we lost on countback 1-1 as the opposition scored first

So we were in every game bar the MWT's game

The first non North Qld side won the title , the Western Lions got up in the final v Townsville Brothers 5-3

We organized a man of the match for each game

EB got MOTM game 3 with 10 of the 14 votes , he got a cork on his knee in the first game and then another on his arm in the last game and battled on

If I can work out how to post the tackle he made in game 3 he just drives this one kid back at least 10 metres

He especially wanted to the beat the Mackay Wests Tigers we had 4 different Tigers side in our group

They did some really good things for the Carnival , firstly every club hung their No 8 jerseys out the front of their tents as a sign of respect for the young man killed on the weekend in the Qld Cup game

Reduced the No of game from 7 to 6

We had a great weekend and made a lot of new friends as the parents don't get much of a chance to socialize due to the shift work and the like in town after games

Young fella has games coming out of his ears over the next month

7 games on the 25/26th /6 (not including any finals ) Laurie Spina Cup

5 games on the 10/7 and 11/7 (not including any finals ) Jason Hetherington Cup

5 games on the 15/7,16/7 and 17/7 (not including any finals ) Challenge Cup

I rang Dank ,,,he will be on his way up on Tuesday,,,

Good luck to the young fella Hao…

Mate you might want to get Dank to bring double doses :imp:

Draw for Jason Hetherington Cup just came out and they play 9 games over the two days , 6 games the first day

And then 5 games in 5 days time after that :brick:

Bloody ridiculous , 14 games in 8 days not including any finals they might make

And NRL players complain

Seems apart from game 3 all were pretty close.

Boys must have been knackered.

The hanging of the jerseys is a nice touch to a tragic incident.

Last week, our kids over here had a forfeit on their hands as the Kalamunda Bulldogs could only get 3 starters to their team. I tell ya, the code is really struggling in the junior ranks over here which is a real shame. It's for this reason that I am always stunned when people talk of how the West would be the place to expand to. Really?

Anyway, this week, we're off to Exmouth for the school holidays to swim with some whale sharks with a bit of luck. So will be running back onto the field towards the end of the month. Hopefully, the kids took out Fremantle today as our first round clash was a beauty. Rockingham is coming up as well I think, so we'll miss that one and another also. Fingers crossed the lads muscle up against those big guns.

Have fun on holidays WD with the kids and hope when you get back into the action they keep chalking up the victories

Actually some of the info I gave was incorrect the Western Lions are a Twonsville side I have since found out

Wondered why they had such a big cheer squad against another Townsville side

We have our draw for Jason Hetherington Cup , the initial info the wife gave me being incorrect

We play my hated side from Ipswich first up the

Ipswich Norths Cubs

Highfields

North Thuringowa (Townsville side )

Moranbah Miners

And the curtain raiser to the Local A Grade v the Calliope Roosters (who have the very good girl player I have mentioned about )

Saturday

Mackay Wests Tigers (in Under 11's they towelled us up in Townsville)

Emerald Tigers

Capricorn Coast Brothers (Rockhampton side )

Noosa Pirates

It turns out we have 18 players for Friday and 19 for Saturday so at least the boys will get some breaks

30 teams travelling from all over the state from the Gold Coast all the way up to Cairns

Boys have played out of their skins to day and are 4-1 and running 2nd in our pool

The only team how beat us is undefeated and hasn't conceded a try yet in their 5 games

If any one is interested if you go on foxsportpulse.com and look up Jason Hetherington Cup cansee all the tables

Good start up here

Second game we came off second best

1-1 ,can't complain

Junior has played real well scored a 90 metre effort first game and crashed over after a great 30 metre run in the 2nd

Bet you can't believe what these young maniacs are up to now

Swimming at the resort ,must be maybe 15 degrees at best

Looking good up your way Happy. Our guys have been traveling well of late, we're in second with just the star studded Rockingham sharks above us. Now we're back from holidays up north in Exmouth, the young bloke is dead keen to get back onto the field. Hope there's still a spot for him!

Thanks for the kind words , good to have a break from the footy for both Junior and us

Happy Junior ended up playing 23 games in 21 days and Game 22 was probably his best

Joondalup Giants played South Perth Lions today and came from behind to lead 10-8 at the break. Only one conversion was made all game as the ball was thrown around and tries were made out wide which left difficult attempts for the young kickers. The Giants came out with all guns blazing in the second half and scored some really impressive 4 pointers. By games end, the scoreline was 30-8\. A good, tough game with great backline play and solid hits in defence.
