Joondalup Giants played South Perth Lions today and came from behind to lead 10-8 at the break. Only one conversion was made all game as the ball was thrown around and tries were made out wide which left difficult attempts for the young kickers. The Giants came out with all guns blazing in the second half and scored some really impressive 4 pointers. By games end, the scoreline was 30-8\. A good, tough game with great backline play and solid hits in defence.

Good to here such a good mix of back line plays and hard hitting defence

EBs team lost a heartbreaker 24-22 after leading 22-6

They kicked the winning goal after the hooter

Must win to make the "games of excellence" otherwise known as semis

PC gone mad again

In belated news turns out the young fella got best and fairest up at Challenge Cup

Happy won the least popular Dad award as we headed off to Brisbane not realizing that he was getting an award at the titles

Few more days in the dog house will fix that I guess

Sounds like your opponents came home strong. Bad luck to the boys. Gotta be happy with the b&f award. Awesome news! And the most unpopular dad award also seems pretty well deserved. :laughing:

Big game tomorrow for the boys

We lose we are out of the semis contention ( games of excellence )

Stupid thing is we are the only side in the comp that can probably test the top side who are undefeated when we are at full strength

Looks like we might be spending some time at the Hospital this arvo

Young fella scores with his first touch and comes up in pain and can't bend thumb and big lump on the joint

Giving it some time with ice to see if the swelling goes down and he gets some movement

Almost exact replica of last week including the scoreline finished at 22 all and they scored just before the hooter and kicked the goal to tie it up after hooter

Ouch - sorry been away for a bit. Hows the arm? Our boys have had 3 byes in a row and play semis this coming weekend. Hopefully they can get back into it wihtou too many problems

They lost after a 20 all draw in a knockout semi final after the other team scored first

Hobbo jnr's side went down 28-12 in their qualifying final .
It was actually their biggest loss of the season !
They need to win this weekend for a spot in the Grand Final !
I've never seen under 11 kids with facial hair until the weekend lol
The opposition side were all Polynesian boys where our boys are all Anglo Saxon !
We need more bulk in the team , so I suggested that we worm the boys at trying this week :laughing:

Today the Giants traveled down to Rockingham to meet the undefeated minor premiers of the Under 13's. We've only played these guys once this year and they touched us up 38-6 I think. So we went there not really expecting a win but hoped to put in a really improved showing.
The boys stayed with them early and after leading 10-6 they went in to half time down 12-10\. After the break, the sharks skipped ahead to a 24-14 lead but the Giants never gave in. Something clicked and they surged back to lead 26-24 with 5 minutes to go. Some incredibly skillful tries had the crowd really involved and with 2 minutes to go, the Sharks managed to slide through to win the match 28-26\. Brilliant game but we now meet the winner of todays other match between South Perth Lions and Freo Roosters with the winner of that match to again take on the sharks in the GF. Looking forward to next week and hopefully, with a little bit more luck we could go one better the week after. Bring it!

Then it went back and forth in the 2nd half going onto win 22-16 .

Talk about a nail biter lol
They now play St- Mary's in the GF next week !

Man I love watching the kids do their thing. The tension around the place in some games is just great. Nail biters….gotta love 'em.
I neglected to say that the try that took us to level at 24 all was converted from the touchline. Man...the place was jumpin after that! Best of luck from the West to your boys next week Hobbo.

It's a great time in our lives watching our kids play the game with both love , the family atmosphere , the banter between the dads ( especially at training)
And don't forget the bbq's !!!
