My comment is off subject really and has nothing to do with his coaching and to be honest, is irrelevant to Wests Tigers…..was just making an observation.

I know we hear this hype every year but this year will be different, especially with the forwards we now have. Sue, Ava, Sironen, Tupau were all not in the squad (or considered in the forwards) so I would say we have a bit more size to work with. Also Blair's move to the front row will be much more beneficial than when he was in the back row so all in all, we have alot to look forward to.

Kidwell always looked like he was going to be a pretty handy centre before he switched to the back row
As someone else said , you don't have to be a good player to be a good coach
Tim Sheens ,Craig Bellamy ,Wayne Bennett, Jack Gibson, Gus Gould , Ivan Cleary come immediately to mind

Remember seeing Wayne Bennett and Wayne Stewart (another winger who played for Australia in 1972 ) in a 30 metre run for the line back in Brisbane Rugby League days at Lang Park
I could of used a sun dial to time them
Bennett strength was he was probably one of the fittest guys of his era
Gus was a very good player, as was Cleary
Sheens was tough, as was Gibson

Bennett Sheens Cleary and Bellamy were solid players in my opinion
I can only go off what I've been told about Gibson , but from what the old man told me , again a solid player
Same as I class some of my favourite footballers Dean Lance ,Paul Vautin as solid players
They all played at the top level for a decade plus.

Yeah a very good player should play for a decade
But lots of players have played for 10 years and aren't very good players
Very good would be players of the ilk say Gene Miles ,Steve Ella ,Nate Myles
Extremely good would be Harragon , Kenny , Cronin ,O'Connor ,Dale Shearer
Immortals well they speak for themselves
We just have a different rating system
I rate the players we spoke as solid average players
And before someone tells me some played representative football so Phil Duke ,Craig Teevan and Adrian Brunker so it doesn't always mean a great deal
