Mounties moved the ball in the middle third and changed angles all game. The y got a fair few 50/50’s but we were ordinary. The fullback needs the responsibility , someone has to get to dillon midweek and really put it to him about stepping up every week and the importance of his performance and what that does for the team. Madden plays his own game, as I said he tries hard but the wrong decisions he makes in a game is massive. Rua is rua, he’s a tough nugget, tries hard, but had little impact with the ball today. Realistically Look at the forward pack in reserves today, Dias and mikaeli soft, freebairn never gunna play first grade, Stapleton is hopeless, Simpkin understands the value of second phase but is terribly slow. Only guy ready atm for a call up is Stafford toa, and from what I’ve seen wing only, doesn’t look to pass and I haven’t seen any genuine footwork but is strong and reliable.

The club was bordering on broke for most of the time until just a year or two after Madge arrived. Historically the club's slide started a year or two after Sheens left.

Looking at the stats Mikele had a huge game. 60 mins 187 meters, 3 tackle breaks, 4 offloads and 22 tackles 0 misses and 0 errors. I would have had him on the bench last week for NRL and imo would have him this week too.

Gee watching it live i thought mikaeli was ordinary, but obviously turning your back on contact and walking backward into the defence, racks up your stats, he did flop 2 passes on the ground out the back, when he had a couple of blokes on him, i was hoping for a big year with this guy, but watching live, i just dont see it with this guy. Actually i missed a bloke the other day when i was commenting on this game, he came of the bench, and really had an impact with his carries, looks like hes carrying a bit , but carried the ball the best out of our forwards in my opinion, it wasn't fonua pole, i think it was james.

So what did our two boys get sin binned for? Seems very unusual to have two players sin binned, a few mins apart, none from the opposition, and Mounties didn't score even though we had 2 players off the field.
