OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

When LG is asked about his contract, you can see the parallels between what Moses was spitting out when asked the same question before he signed with the eels… what comes out of LG’s mouth is his manager talking…. Not once has Galvin said he wants to extend and be a Tiger long term… not once

Agree.. I think Richo will try and extend him before round 1 after he starts clicking with JL and can see the potential. I still think Managers are a blot on the game

Do I think he will extend? No, I don't unless we start the season very well and he sees us as a top team short term and long term.

Well...hes a 19yo kid and naturally trusts his manager to do the best thing for him
Galvin also needs to see what the $1.2 mill man does for him...if he markedly improves ,his market value becomes so much more, and will be be snapped up ......probably by Roosters Im thinking?
If he doesnt improve this year ,he probably will do a Stefano and ..still.go to the Roosters!
So I wouldnt put my house on him hanging around, unless he really bonds with Benji and Jerome
Got a feeling Latu will be our 6 in 2026
Hope Im wrong

2027 he’s contracted to. But I guess he could go early.

Which is why I think we should have let Large have the option in his contract that if LG extends he can leave

Therefore if LG doesn't extend we look at promoting Large

Last time we put all our energy into a certain player we lost him and Ryan papanhauzen

It's complicated mate. You say you want to stay then decide leaving the club is the best option then you look like a dog. Let's see how 2025 plays out. If we're winning games and competing for the 8 why would he want to leave? He's with all his mates and Benji is like a brother bros can give you a kick up the ass it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Thought it was 2026...gotta make his decision by Nov 1 next year?
Gotta include Moses factor with any of his "clients" now incl Bula..and need to plan contingencies for worst case scenario so we dont go thru 2017 all over again
...which is quite probable unfortunately
Latu covers Galvin..Tureva covers Bula
Am sure this has not escaped our GM

Agree. Bad management decision to let Large out of his contract, given the uncertainty around LG. Storm had no issues allowing Pezet a clause in the case Jahrome Hughes re-signs.

The 2 new teams coming in will inflate those off contracts value. PNG will be offering stupid money

We have Latu Fainu, who's arguably had more raps on him as a 5/8 as a junior, and finished the year quite strongly for us

Sounds weird but I think Fainu has more potential as a 5/8 than LG, but Galvin seems the better footballer overall if that makes sense. Would love to somehow keep both!

I don’t see a world where we will. The club will obviously prioritise Galvin. Lucky for the club that Latu is signed beyond Galvin, cos if Galvin bounces, they can move to quickly tie up Latu. If Galvin extends though, I find it highly unlikely Latu sticks around. I’ve seen people mention moving one of them into the forwards, but that’s presuming both players would be happy to do that. I have my doubts. Fainu might prefer to go elsewhere and make his name as a half. If he’s as good as people claim he is, he won’t be short of offers.

Inevitable
Let's see how they both fare this year, and maybe WTs get to make these decisions on whats best for us

Honestly these "managers" What an absolute waste.

I would so prefer a Union to a vulture that wants 5-10% of my wage just for managing a contract. I mean have someone who will give a stuff about long term injuries, not someone who wants to push my 450k contract to 500k just so they get a little more.

Even then, why have them at all. I would prefer a lawyer or service that just got engaged at contract time. "Get me a better deal, 2k and 2% of the first year".

I think our lack of forward depth will see him leaving , we have a far better set of backs than any time over the last 3 years , but our forwards are no better than the last 3 years and our dept is SO poor

True , I see him with a grin when asked what’s happening contract wise , do I think he will stay , at this stage I feel his manager has a offer from another top club maybe roosters who have said , he will be our top player , we give the best support , advice etc and we go well , unca Nick etc , agree I haven’t seen him say he would love to stay long term , just working through the deal , we need to fire straight away in 25 and he and Luai need to be strong , that may help him and if it is say the roosters we need to beat them every time we play them

Idk if anyone has ever seen the doco “Sunderland Til I Die”, but there is a point where one of their young star players was off contract and was being asked about his future

Anytime a player tells an interviewer that they are leaving it to their manager, signs aren’t good that they are looking to stay at their current club. It’s basically code for they are looking to get out. *SPOILER* re the video. He didn’t re-sign. If Galvin, or any player for that matter, in our colours ever plays dumb like this guy in this video, someone should backhand them.

That's why his manager is considered the best.

Uncompromising and all about making his clients happy.

If the tigers are winning and the money is right, then he will stay.

What constitutes winning? Just getting off the bottom of the ladder? Top 8? It might take making the top 8, which is still a big ask. Even if we just get to mid table it might not be enough. It wasn’t for Tedesco. Long story short, if the Roosters come sniffing, winning won’t matter.
