OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

People react differently under pressure and stress. I have a mate who cracks jokes when people die….even at their funerals. It pisses some people off whilst others realise it’s a coping mechanism.
Some players blast music, some sit in silence, whilst others spew their rings out. To me Lachie seems to go to a happy place…maybe he reminds himself why he is playing this game and remembers the joy it brought him as a child. After all, it wasn’t that long ago that he was one.
Agree, I don’t see Lachie as a smiling assassin type of personality. Richo doesn’t either apparently:

“Lachlan is a very honest kid. He’s as simple as it gets. He loves his footy. If he were sitting here with you, he would be twirling the ball.”

I actually don’t think it’s all that complicated.
He has been here over 3 years and during that time, he and his parents have seen the club receive
  • 3 x wooden spoons at NRL level,
  • 1 x spoon, and 2 x bottom 3 finishes at KOE level
  • Mixed results in Flegg but one of those was also a spoon.
Add to that the board in fighting, Hagi and Pascoe, 2 coaches sacked, lots of players leaving contracts early…..their mind was made up in 2023. The club threw a Hail Mary at them last year promoting him way ahead of time but the spoon finish likely sealed it. He was gone.
Nothing that’s occurred in 2025 has affected their decision. All the noise around Luai and co is just that. They found a better offer and that’s that. It’s not Benji’s or Richo’s or the player’s fault….its just the perfect storm of shit from 2022-24 that convinced them this place isn’t for them and that’s not a betrayal or snake behaviour or anything else…it’s just human nature to protect your son.

As a very stupid man once uttered…it is what it is and the club is paying for the pathetic performances it’s put in over the past 3 seasons.
OMG
Tucker I think you nailed it.
Just shows us everything is possible 😂😂😂

With all the media spin we will never find out, unfortunate this is going to drag on all season we have already seen it affect the team to me they looked distracted on the weekend, hope they can get their heads right.
They just require normal preparation and to leave the off field shit behind.

Well done by Richo. In the media, we need to make sure it's never a "Us vs Galvin" situation.

He was as transparent as he can be about Moses.

I understand the "senior players" are upset at Galvin or whatever it is, but they need to move on from that.

Galvin hasn't asked for a release and at least in the media he's said he's here for 18 months. He's in our best 17 every week so now we move on and focus on football.

The legal/ mediation works can be sorted out by management and player managers.
Richardson has gone to great lengths to protect Galvin as a very good CEO should. As a WTs supporter I am proud the club has supported him and will no doubt continue to do so to ensure he will see our his contract. Too often I read the throw away line that the situation is untenable, when good player mgmt will result in the best outcome for our club.

If we hold Galvin to his contract and he gets paid $250k this year and $350k next year, as reported, that will be the ultimate victory in this saga.

Everybody knows there are riches waiting for Galvin at Parramatta as soon as he gets there. By staying at WT for his contract I expect Galvin would lose somewhere in the order of $1m before tax. It would mean Moses and the Galvin’s pulled the wrong reign in rejecting the WT’s offer. And will perhaps drive a wedge between the Galvins and Moses.

Who compiled the list?
Who cares? There’s many obvious negative things you could raise about the Wests Tigers organisation. There’s also many positive things you could raise right now. It’s all about perspective and that’s why Richo would have just shut it down. Team Galvin wants to leave which isn’t up for debate. Our priority is to win footy games and having a good five eighth on 250-350K is an advantage. if we can turn the situation in our favour competitively in the form of a player trade, we should explore that. Otherwise, we ask Lachlan to commit to playing good footy while he’s here.

I think having Latu hear we should look at a player swap , Eels would be all in I think , and it’s very simple , Moses knows Galvins deal with us he just has to ask Parra who they would let go , we should tell Moses we are looking for a strike centre , Backrower ,Prop , come back when you have one that .
1 wants to come to tigers and Richo can speak to said player .
2 Moses to work out money ,and it’s no cost to us for 2025 and 2026 , just Galvins wage , Eels to kick the rest in to cover players current numbers .
3 said player must be worth similar coin to Galvin at Parra / $ 750 / $ 800 so no shit box players will be disused

Would you take Dylan Brown, just for this year assuming he’s not looking to backflip on Newy?

Could be worth exploring.

Yes , 100% I would take brown to end this mess , I think him and Luai would be a solid pair , Latu still needs a bit more time considering he is out again injured , though he should be doing all the running work , leg work in gym it’s only a broken thumb , but it could work, only down side is it’s a year , we may be better taking another player long term

Tend to agree.

I see no sense is taking Brown. Specialist left side player to partner Luai who is also a left side player. Also blocks and progression we could gain leading into 26 with Latu. Big not to Brown for me

Only Parra player id look at would be Hopgood or Lomax, Simmonson goes alright too. With the arrival of Dylan Walker, Hopgood's minutes and role has reduced, could be a slight chance! haha

Dom Young demoted by Roosters I see, a big body fast winger could be handy, Skelton can't keep fit at the moment. On fair amount of coin though I presume.

With Kayal Iro coming back into Sharks squad soon, Hiroti is another one who is too good for reserve grade.
