OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277

no one has labelled him an immortal…

Phil Gould has had the highest praise for him that I have heard … ulterior motives there no doubt.,,
Remember Gould went to visit the Fainu brother who is in Jail...when Latu and Samuela were given permission to look for another club...bet he hasn't been back!....Gould and Politis are the biggest snakes in the game...the only difference is Gould shows his hand more.

dickheads .. but they get the results … maybe we need Julie and The Wig doing something similar

Agree… but that was 1 yr… and he debuted in 2003.

Anyway my point is consistency over a long period.

Benji 2005 was amazing!!! Better than galvin for sure… but I believe over a 10 year career galvin will win more accolades and be more consistent than Benji

Just my opinion
Benji was one of the best broken field runners I've ever seen, able to step off either foot without losing pace
But he wasn't a constructive playmaker focussed on creating opportunities for those around him..it was pretty much an afterthought, hence the crazy passes into row 3 when his own opportunities were limited...
..which is why imo he won't make a great coach
Galvin doesn't rely on his physical attributes like Benji because he doesnt have them to the same extent, but has great vision and team focus..which is why he will contribute more in the long run provided he doesn't get too heavy

the kid has tenacity ,street smarts what ever u wanna call it,he is a hog, does dumb things at time n again in the same position when nearly every time a cut out pass had us over the line,ps he has a great right field kick, bit of a 2 trick pony at the moment,

It's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
humour me -u seen rocky n bullwinkle-watch me pull this rabbit out of my hat,Galvin will absorb whats coming his way,the kid reminds me of some freaky space gadet ,that see;s a media screen n jumps 2 life,he is the face of the newbies

I initially thought he lacked a little movement speed last year......the so called fast twitch and that he needed more time. But no, it's just him, he just lacks a yard or two of pace. His definitely ready and going to be a very good player imo.

Anyway, the two things that impress about this guy to me is his ability to pass late into the line, and his defence. Seems opposition coaches don't even bother to target him much because they don't see much of a weakness. Rare for any half especially at 18, last guy I saw like that defensively at 18 was Lamb.

The way the game is evolving into high scoring affairs the coaching staff might have an opportunity to leverage onto this by basically putting the 13 on his back and playing Luai pretty much the way his used now with Latu at 7.

Reckon Galvin can lope it up and with 3 guys around the scrum base taking on the line passing late asking questions virtually every play it might be a revelation.

Thing is Galvin is maybe going to earn 350-450k total over the next 2 years. If he re-signs soon then he could earn say 2.5-3 million over the next 4 years, tell him we want you to be the King of Campbelltown and the face of the club.
If he's genuine in his claims that he loves the club, the region, his team mates and the fans then he'd jump at that. Giving him everything he wants, increasing his salary by 600% and giving him the opportunity to carve out some history at the club
If in the end it doesn't go to plan he would be free to leave the club and still not even be in his mid 20s to chase a premiership elsewhere.
If he signs on his agent also gets his slice of the pie now,, not in a few years. Everyone wins

says he loves the club (publicly) worst 2 worst he can join manly in 11 years time, god dam it im sick of following a team in turmoil,im a grumpy old stick ,that kid owes me our club and his lively hood.bah humbug,

Galvin would be waiting on Luai to arrive do the pre season , see how they bond and once we get 2025 under way , Richo will be sitting ready to jump ,
4 wins from first 5 games and he signs on , he will,be lapping up the connection with Luai and winning feeling will also help our whole team become stronger , I feel we can if this club buys 3 solid players , make the 8 next year , we have 3 good players coming so far , just add 3 more

Goulds comments on Galvin!

“But honestly, Lachlan Galvin, by the time he has retired, god willing, touch wood, and I don’t want to mock him, Lachlan Galvin will earn more money out of rugby league than any player in history. That’s going to be my prediction.

“I think he’s the best teenage footballer I’ve ever seen"

You know what that means...! Gus and Laundy hatching a plan!

It’s 20 but exactly.
Maybe we STFU and let the kid find his feet before setting out his legacy?
This is the type of crap that helped sink Brooks as a young fella.
Not a truer word said. I love the passion of our fans but we need to be patient and have Lachie enjoy his footy and know our fans have got their back. You would be surprised how much of this gets back to our players especially the young kids that read into this a lot more than they should.
He is a superstar of the future and we are lucky to have a kid of this calibre playing for us. I remember it wasn't long ago that the Knights and Eels had earned 2 or 3 wooden spoons, we are trending in the right direction, hopefully with a couple of good signings to add to Luai, Turuva and Skelton we are looking good to change the direction of our club.

It is a travesty that this guy (Gould) can have such a high profile media role whilst being so closely aligned/ employed with 1 team
