He destroyed us. Set us back years. No doubt whatsoever.
But again, this is the fault of management.

IMO, we should have moved heaven and earth to get Nathan too.
You could say we never really had a chance with him, but for me, when Nathan re-signed for Panthers it was a death knell.
The rest played itself out.
 
What about Pat's restarts and kicks aimed at the goalposts? Sensational

I loved his kicking tee he used to have that I think got banned in the end. It was a witches hat!

But really what could management have done. Ivan and management knew full well Nathan was in grade and soon to become a first grader. Wasn't at his interview but can imagine management asked Ivan what happens when Nathan makes 1st grade and and I'm sure all would have been satisfied. But seems Ivan had second thoughts later.

Agree, this destroyed us for years.

Ivan and Nathan needed to be an unofficial package deal.
This was one of those sliding doors moments for WT.
Notable others being losing Tedesco and the big 3 fiasco (not including Judas Woods).
Talk about death knells!
 
Losing Tapau and JAC were big for me also. Bellamy must have thoughtit funny getting Moro from us then replacing him with JAC from us on the same wing..

I absolutely, totally agree with you. Any organisation whether it's sport or business has a model. The model is proposed to the organisation by it's head honcho, the ideas are thrown around at all levels until a working model is agreed on.
The leader ensures he or she has everyone steering the ship in one direction and not the opposite.
If everyone from the jersey washers, the trainers, players, coaches all the way up to our leader aren't on the same page, then it's a disaster.
Successful clubs bring into the organisation people who care and support the club, who bleed for the club.
Do our leaders ie. CEO have the same attributes.
Is the front office up front with everyone in the organisation and it's supporters.
I would rather see and hear contant feedback on injury updates, signings and player movement from our club via membership emails than have to wait weeks or months and hear it from the opposition, also rather than watch a tv series about the club beating their chests and highlighting our weaknesses for the entire rugby league community to ridicule us, be more upfront to its members

Imagine what could have been If the leaders of the club did their job.

I think you should be blaming Cleary. He did insurmountable damage compared to the lovers tiff between Robbie and JT.

I agree with you about the board. Total incompetents and some people like marina Go and Pascoe who knew nothing about football started making football decisions.

In hindsight the worst decision was hiring Taylor. That was a pivotal moment in the club's history and created the rot we are now starting to address.

Cleary was not much better as he did nothing to build the club's long term future.

At least now Pascoe has gone back to looking after the books and we have hired people like Sheens and Maguire to handle football decisions. These guys if nothing else are at least making long term football decisions that will eventually fix the mess these other losers created

It can start anywhere, but it’s essential to have leadership at the level in the organisation where decisions are made which affect systems, protocols and behaviours. The important thing is that it starts, and continues. 😂

Interesting, just read an article that said Bellamy declined our offer due to family reasons.

I don't understand what this means? Craig Bellamy was offered the Tigers job and declined. Paul Langmack didn't become the coach.

So what does it matter what the players said in 2002?

And the bloke that ultimately replaced Terry Lamb won us a comp 3 years later.

I watched the interview with Craig on Matty John's.

The club told him the players said they want Langmack but he can have the job... he said, well no thanks.

Interviewed with Raiders also who told him he has the job then the next day called him and said they changed their mind and want to go with Matt Elliot.

When he rejected the Tigers, he thought if could've been a mistake because these opportunities don't come around often.... however soon after Melbourne offered him the job.
