Went to sign up for Gold Claws membership for ANZ because it's close to home, but found that my kids 14 and 13 and too old for the family membership, so I emailed the club to see if there was any alternatives.
Got an email back 2 days later saying that they gone for a really low price point for ANZ so the only thing I could do was get 4 individual memberships so instead of $250 my bill would $400 so definately wont be signing up this year.

My god!
from $8 per game per head up to $14 per game per head.
Outrageous.

Get used to it….your kids wont get cheaper as they get older :unamused:

Ridiculous ….. So effectively 13 and 14 year olds are no longer considered children .... How does that encourage the next generation of Tigers fans ?

Here's whats wrong with our memberships:

An 8 game member ship (ANZ/CSS or LO,) costs $260 for silver membership, while the Sydney FC Cove membership will get you 14 games in the active supporters bay for $235, and the Cove membership includes public transport.

What do the Wanderers fans get out of their RBB membership? I assume it would be similar to FC's?

I pay $190 because I'm a foundation member. My brother paid $220 this season and yeah it includes public transport too.

Yet its possible to get nine WTs games for $75

Perspective.

Whereabouts are the seats? I'd hazard a guess they're ANZ seats so they'd be up in the nosebleeds.

It's a trade off. If you want cheap memberships, you go for the ANZ deals but you get crap seats, but if you want good seats (particulary at LO or CSS,) you have to be prepared to shell out.

SFC and WSW offer better deals in the great scheme of things. I'm sure that WT could as well if we played solely out of ANZ or Allianz as well where we are paid to play there rather than put our hands in our pockets at the suburban grounds.

I paid $190 for both my son and I (half of a $380 foundation family membership) for the section next to the RBB on the Eastern Side and yes it includes public transport. There is also the members pack and a 10% discount off food and non-alcoholic drinks at the ground and 10% off merchandise purchased through the club.

SFC @ WSW all have terrible seats afaic…the game is terrible, the people are terrible...its all terrible

Youre comparing apples and eggs...I dont see the point of comparing soccer memberships to ours...as I pointed out there is value for money, too many focus on the negatives..

Your first sentence is your opinion, doesn't make it so.

Secondly, we're comparing ticketed memberships for sporting teams. Different sports perhaps but no different in terms of the core product being offered: a seat to view the game. As I have already said, I'm sure if WT weren't obligated to play at CSS and LO, they would be able to offer far more competitive pricing.

Yeh, its my opinion….because youre comparing something we love to something others may have no interest in whatsoever = therefore your ''great deal'' may = rubbish to me - hence the comparisons are skewed
Everything on earth could be better, cheaper - more value...if thats how you look at things

Claws (4 games)
Bronze LO: $110
Bronze ANZ: $50
Total: $160

Premium Bronze (8 games LO/ANZ) $165

Claws Gold LO: $175
Claws Gold ANZ: $99
Total $274

Premium Gold ANZ/LO 8 Games: $345

Is it a ploy to make people become a member twice?

A good idea which Ive seen Penrith implement with the help of their major sponsor.

Old jersey buy backs.

Penrith are offering subsidised jersey when you trade in al old Penrith jersy…OAK are gaining more exposure by assisting financially with the discounted new jerseys, and Penrith get more exposure with their old jerseys donated to indigenous programs thru Sydneys west

This could be offered initially to new members signing up and then the general fanbase later on.

Harry T - looking your way

That's what most consumers look at Ink… Value.

Irrespective of the emotional investment that the average punter might have in either sport, the point of the comparison I was trying to make was that there are feasible ways for WT to be more competitive overall against other teams in the NRL and other sporting teams in general. Playing at two home grounds that are an expense for the club rather than an income stream is a major issue. There will come a time where this will have to be addressed.

There's reasons why Souths and Canterbury have much larger membership subscriptions and while playing successful football is a key contributor, when you have 80,000 seats you have economy of scale. Playing at LO & CSS, WT have adopted the less in more approach where they wring every dollar they can out of those grounds.

Based on what you described earlier with the 9 games for $75 though, it looks like the club is moving in the right direction.

The difference is that the gold seats at Leichhardt are not as good under the Claws membership compared to the Premium membership. At least that is the response I got when I asked the club…

well the tigers are offering 12 + 3 games in the jungle for $200 (adult) and 10% off merc and i think 5-10% off food at ANZ. So, the RBB is slightly better I guess. Not sure what their kit is like though.

You make too much sense to get agreement on this forum CB !

The point that most of us are trying to make that's lost on some members of the forum is things can be done better. The way it's always been done mentality just doesn't wash in this day and age. If you stand still you get left behind …. That's the simple reality in a fast changing world.
