PENRITH and Manly fans will be forced to stay up late on Friday with Channel Nine set to continue its prime-time love affair with St George Illawarra.

The entertaining Panthers and Sea Eagles have featured on a Friday night just once respectively this season, yet that has not stopped Nine executives from bumping the two NRL heavyweights to its dreaded 9.30pm timeslot.

What a stupid article. Does this guy honestly believe that Panthers vs Manly will outrate Dragons vs Tigers???

Ch9 are a commercial organisation. They broadcast the highest rating game.
Another stupid Tele article. At least they are consistent.

Why is this an issue now? Has he only just figured this out?
 
The Tigers rate with huge NO's for 9 Sunday afternoon nearly 500 thousand couple that up with the Dragqueens on Friday night I think we get the picture MASSIVE audiance our sponsors must be happy.

The second Friday night game is sh** to watch. Never use it as a way to entice newbies to the sport. It is an experiment designed to fail.

Would be the most sensible option, but nine use go as an entertainment channel…
 
I usually just tape the 2nd game and watch it saturday morning, what's the problem? nothing else to write about?
 
What a strange article. Both will be good games, but one has to go second on Friday. Must have had a space to fill in the paper.
 
must be a penrith supporter…disappointed that for once his team is actually playing well and won't be able to see the game live
 
they should have more double headers imo, brings in 4 supporter bases and forces people to stay up to watch it rather than listening to it on the radio.
 
If Penrith and Manly fans in Sydney are that deperate to see their teams live go to the game
