The officiating is an absolute disgrace. Pretty much every game, every week.
The Warriors v Raiders game today where the Raiders had a successful challenge when their bloke was tackled a few millimetres off the ground which resulted in a mid-air tackle ruling. Yet at the death the ref was happy to let a (at least 2m, but possibly 4m) forward pass go. Thank god RTS was there to shut it down, that was disgraceful refereeing.
On a positive note, RTS ran from close to 50m to pull off that try-saver. What an effort!

Sorry your grumpy a mid air tackle was called on a bloke in mid air ?

The game was never designed to be officiated in such a manner. Frame by frame freezing the play to pick up micro errors whilst 4m forward passes go unchallenged. Officiating has been lost for years and it is only getting worse

Not so sure ..I remember as many dud decisions in the 70's and 80's etc for example when Grahame O'Grady was ruled offside in a semi when he was the one who kicked the ball..a captains challenge or bunker review back in those times would have changed that..

It's just that there is more technology involved now..

Refs have been duds since 1908...

I yearn for Greg Hartley

So he can rip us off again? How many dud calls agin the Tigers did that joke make in his day?

AND about 400 incorrect 6 again calls, and 500 not given that should have been.

Refs have been great....NOT!!!!

No. Unhappy that they can rule on that, it was a matter of millimetres in that instance. Yet they miss 4 metre forward passes.
And the fact that blatant forward passes are highlighted massively during tv replays yet still cannot be ruled on. It's a joke.

Unhappy they can rule on things correctly, but you also are mad that they get things wrong? If he's in the air he's in the air and it's a penalty. You sound like Joey saying knock ones shouldn't count if it's in slow motion ?

The rule was brought in to stop players legs being taken out .
Not for a cuddle 2mm of the ground .

Rules are rules. Do you really want to give the refs the decision of what counts as being bad enough of a tackle in the air to be a penalty and what isn't? The less grey area the better, it either is or isn't a penalty

He literally got the call right - the player was tackled in the air. Doesn't matter how hard or soft it was, it was in the air. If you want referees to decide if the tackle was hard enough to warrant a penalty there will be a million more controversial decisions.

End of the day the player had to wait 0.5 seconds to make the tackle and there's no penalty, it's on him. He knows the rules

'Rules are rules'. Sure. So why are 4 metre forward passes not ruled against?

Or correct PTB's enforced? We won't go into detail about the dozens of other indescretions that are ignored every game.
Rules are rules.......when it suits. That's the problem.

I hate when they give the ball back after a player passes it after it's called held...or the go back and play it on the mark when the walk of it...both should still be a penalty..

Or the players in front when they take a 20m tap..it's go back and do it again..bloody penalise them they will soon get back..

Remember when players were regularly getting penalized for walking off the mark, these days the marker is more likely to get penalized for not being square or crowding, or if it's West Tigers, make up a new rule on the run.

The Warriors also scored off a 4m forward pass. Perenara is simply out of his depth.

That part is true. For anything you say about any other ref, Perenara is absolutely incapable of putting on a confident reffing performance.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, what the hell are the touchies doing letting all these forward passes go.

Yeah but that Ben Murdoch forward pass was in the middle of the field and Perenara was standing right in line, you can see it on the replay. He put himself in literally the perfect position and couldn't see a forward pass that would have made Joe Montana or Dan Marino proud.

I really dislike the six again - it's another way for refs to get away with making calls without accountability. They're all brushed over.

I support the concept in general but they need a way of communicating 100% of the 6-again calls to the fans on TV. I had no idea 3-4 of those second-half calls, what the issue was. Sometimes it's obvious, often it is not.

And because you don't know what was supposed to have happened, it sticks in your mind as a potentially bad call.

I do enjoy the changes. Nice work to those involved being able to change things unlike Union.
