I know it was. But the votes were a sham. Even on his horrid days Brooks often got 3 pts.
When other fans saw that, they/we just voted for him blindly and so he kept getting 3 pts as a kind of in-joke.
Some people took the voting seriously, I did in the beginning. But the Brooks fans ruined it. That sucked. Check the comments in the thread.

Just a hunch but I reckon Hastings starts at 6 then ends up in the ball playing lock role (when Doueihi is fit) that the coaching staff prophesied when they signed him.
And tbh I don’t have a problem with that. Hastings is a talented player. But through watching him this year I saw instances of how beneficial his skill, energy and talk can be when playing the Issah Yeo role.

6 rounds this Year Brooks topped the forums 3 2 1.. Laurie 3 times from memory..

That doesn’t reflect well on the people who voted in that thread.
Under no circumstances was he our best player in 6 seperate games this year. More often then not he was the reason we lost games.

Very disappointing, shame to those involved with voting.

Laurie showed some really good glimpses through the year but has, imo spat on the jersey and in the fans faces with his recent behaviour.

I am extremely disheartened and disappointed.

I hope all my forum brothers (and sisters) are well.
I ain't with this.

Fair enough. He did have a run of decent form in the middle of the year when he would have picked up votes though, and Doueihi missed a few games, so while I don't agree with it I can see how it would have happened.

If we punt Laurie we are absolutely rooted, he is one of our few bright prospects. It was poor form on the weekend for sure, but he's just a kid, a quiet word in his ear will suffice. He's always been well behaved otherwise and always puts in. If we could have a head stomper in the squad, we can have a kid who got carried away celebrating with his mates.
