I'm willing to give him time considering his short time in first grade, and that he has actual physical attributes that win games at the elite level in his position, i.e speed and footwork.

Also, I don't think Michael Maguire is a good coach. He hasn't anything in nearly a decade, and the only thing people bring up is that he is a 'premiership winning coach.' Payten, Morris, Ivan Cleary, Brad Arthur are all premiershipless, and I think they're better coaches. Go figure.

It's difficult to tell if it's Laurie or the players inside but his injection into the backline seems slow and clunky.

He looks safe as a bank under the high ball but at this stage I'm not seeing the excitement some others are.

I'm also not sold on his positional play but hopefully he'll grow into it.

I’m willing to give him more time as well. He’s extremely safe under the high ball (I can’t remember a sign drop) but he is very small and lacks the upper body strength to break a tackle. And I wouldn’t safe he is a particularly elusive runner either, mostly he just gets wrapped up very quickly. He’s been ok as a link man coming in to the backline to create the overlap but he is a work in progress. Gus Gould rates him more as a 6 but that isn’t going to really work for us

My list is TT, Nofo, BJ, Roberts, Mbye. Tamou/Twal (same player theory)

Oh, and definitely the coach. This idea that we can't sack him because we have a history of sacking coaches is bullshit. He's a spud, albeit a likeable spud.

Laurie is the best fullback in the Club and in the top 3 talent wise..

Only young and will get better. ...IMO.

He puts himself in the right position a lot ..I feel he's just been a bit unlucky with half-breaks ..just needs a bit more bounce of the ball luck to shine on him...
