I was quite happy to hear Lawrence playing 6 tonight. I thought it would give him more of a chance to run the ball, as he is our most destructive runner. But did it happen? No.

If we are going to use Lawrence as a 6, dont have him doing silly cross field runs, and turning the ball back in to forwards. Just get him running the ball up taking hitups or running hard at the line. He is our best runner, and if hes not gonna attack the line at 6, then we just lose alot of our attack as our attack outwide is severely weakened.

after his try i thought we were in for a good night

he didnt do much after unfortunately.

Sheens compared him to Daley earlier in the week.

Sheens coached Daley.

Daley was a very destructive ball runner.

Lawrence can be one as well.

If his game isnt completely destroyed by his meddling coach.

and nor did he play much at 6

Where did he play?
I couldnt tell…I didnt see him after his try, maybe two or three more times

he played centre for about the last 15….and saw some space and made some incisive runs...@ 5/8th he was relative ineffective...classic case of sheens weakening another position to make another stronger....moving aysh to the other side was dumb...only time lote saw the ball was running it from dummy half

Mate I can see where your coming from but what your describing is a pure and out centre, the role of a #6 is not just straight hole running, there needs to also be that element of ball playing as well to be effective. Like the other comments here I think he went a bit (maybe totally) missing throughout the match but he "could" make a very good #6 with some time and experience. Not a bad stop gap for the time being and certainly not the worst player out there tonight.

I dont think Lawrence showed he was a 6, but i do believe he showed he's dangerous with a free reign. I think he showed he could be a sensation at fullback chiming in with some ball playing and explosive running.

I am at a loss why the coach picked him at 6 and continues to pick the Kiwi Captain (you know the bloke who continually throws forward passes and kicks directly to the opposing wingers and Fullback) at 7?

Lawrence is a real danger at 3 or 4 and the combination with Lote has been very good!

The selections, the positional selections and the ongoing love affair with Fitzy is for me bordering on ????. I would have preferred a natural 1/2 back e.g. Nicholls, and leave the Kiwi Captain at 6 with Brown in for Fitzy, and I would have thought the result would have been 10-12 points better in the Tiges favour!

Don't we supporters, club officials and footy experts make our judgment on results, and the current coach's record over the past decade is very poor. We have the players, but with the ongoing bizarre selections and tactics we are going to continue to tread water. Please call it a day Tim and allow this wonderfully talented bunch of footy players to consistently put on a show week in and week out and be around for the September/October games (every year).

I think Lawrence showed what a class act he is…....

He was great....

Lawrence is not a 6!…he is a great ball runner who needs to be give clean ball with some space ahead of him...he is a very well built athlete!....Our 6 is Benji and he should stay there...we need a 7 who can organise and put people in holes with a great pass!....Moltz is the only player who can do that

Lui is a far better half than Moltz will ever be - better running game, better passing game, better kicking game, and better defensive game. he should be back in the next week or two and things will be hunky dory.

lawrence was there to fill a hole and did OK. 2 from 2 with him at 6\. i'm not complaining.

our coach always weakons one position to try and strengthen another….our attack suffered big time once again because of it .....

Our attack suffered cause we couldn't hold the friggin football…....

Dropped turned over by just about everyone......at different stages....

what robert lui have you been watching? the under 20s lui or the FG lui? because if you are truly lining up their FG performances at halfback its moltzen then daylight to lui

You're right there Ron, but lets consider when we've had Moltz or Lui in at #7 we've won (including the last 9 games of last year,) 14 out of 19 games. We win 75% of our games with either of them in the #7.

The real issue here is the lack of a halfback to direct the side.

Return Lawrence to the left edge where he belongs. If Lui isn't fit, then make a decision to either bring in Nichols or Waters and use them as a shifter, a link man to Marshall allowing him to play his customary running 5/8th role. How hard is it to seriously replace a specialist with a specialist? A 7's role does not change at any level of the game. Wests need a first receiver. It's as simple as that. Farah orchestrates the attack from the ruck, which results in less pressure off a halfback's role in the Wests Tigers structure. Stop messing with the dynamics
