Why do you love Leichhardt Oval?

It's just fantastic to watch footy on a hill. You can stand, move, walk around, get your spot. There is something a bit anti-capitalist about it too - it makes less financial sense but the atmosphere it generates and the experience for fans has intangible value for making a club a 'club".

Campbelltown would be such a better place if they had replaced the archaic Alf dugid stand with an actual covered grandstand in 1999 and still left the hill there for the punters. What you have now is two inadequate stands around the ground so it's too much of nothing either side. Campbelltown can be a good place to watch footy tho. The game in 2005 when we beat the Cowboys to make the finals for the first time had 20k people there and it was absolutely jumping.

I love it because 55% of the time, we win there. If we lose, I go home - not too far. If we win, I got to the city - again, not too far.

I only go home 45% of the time.

It's a generational thing for me. My dad and mum took me there as a kid and then as adultd we went together. Now my children are adults and they have the same connection through going there as kids. We all stand on the hill with all its discomforts and couldn't feel more at home if we tried.

Makes it easier with a 55% record surely?

There's a reason Leichhardt Oval is called the 'Eighth Wonder of the World'!

I've watched games at every stadium across Australia and you just can't beat the atmosphere or the fans on the hill at Leichhardt.

...and if you're feeling peckish after the game, nothing's better than Brothers Kebabs in Annandale.

Ive never been there but always wanted to go. From a television perspective, the atmosphere and electricity in the crowd looks amazing, better than any other NRL ground. The only one that comes close is the old? dragons ground though I havent seen a game played there for some time.

I played a lot of my Junior football there, I grew up in Forest Lodge not far away, I now live in Camden but love going to the 8th wonder. Last Sunday it was the Leichhardt crowd that got them home, I just love going there.
