Lawrence out for 4-5 weeks

It's bad news for sure, and I agree that we do seem to be uniquely cursed with injuries this season. But let's be rational: the next four games are Penrith, Parra, Titans and Sharks - if we can't win three of those without Lawrence we're not much cop anyway. And if we do I think it'll be good enough for sixth.

Ideal situation: win out from here, get sixth and Cowboys nab third, towel them up as usual, Warriors at home round two. Then we're fully fit, ten wins in a row and ready to take on anyone.

We have been absolutely plagued with injuries this season. Unbelievable.

Hopefully he is back in time for the finals.

Confident he'll be back in the first week of finals. Rowdy will do everything possible to make it back sooner.

We will struggle to win games without him, regardless of the opposition. I just hope we don't finish 8th, because we'll be out after a week. 6th or 7th should be the aim. 8th is just cannon fodder, you don't want to be playing Melbourne in Melbourne in week one.

The kids a freak. After his recovery from the dislocated hip- hammy is nothing - he'll be back in 2-3 weeks!

Wow what a blow, since he's came back our attack as been back
Without lawrence we we have no attack
we need him running off benji!

To balance the loss of Rowdy the next few weeks, it seems Penrith might be without Lewis, Sharks with no Gallen (suspension?) and Titans no Prince. Arguably each teams best player. Parra will miss Robson, although not quite as big a loss.

Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence is in doubt for his side's likely opening finals game after scans revealed a worse than expected tear to his right hamstring.

The news will deflate the Tigers after their victory over St George Illawarra on Friday night. The Tigers' recent form has coincided with Lawrence's return from a dislocated hip. He has given the team an extra target in attack since coming back into the side; he suffered the injury while setting up the match-winning try in the 16-14 win over the premiers at the Sydney Football Stadium.

While the rest of his teammates travelled to the south coast of NSW for a three-day camp at Kiama yesterday, Lawrence remained in Sydney so he could use the club's hyperbaric chamber in a bid to hasten his rehabilitation.

He is considered a fast healer and a professional when it comes to recovery and rehab, so Lawrence may be able to return sooner than expected. But he said on Twitter yesterday: ''Scan results weren't as good as I hoped. 4-5 weeks out it looks like. Very frustrating.''

The Tigers have had awful luck with their left-sided combination this year; winger Lote Tuqiri has spent significant time on the sidelines and is not due back from a quad injury until the round 24 match against Parramatta.

Assuming the Tigers do reach the finals, their combination in that corridor will be at worst depleted or at best underdone.

On the right, winger Matt Utai was cleared of any more damage to his arm, having feared he might have rebroken it on Friday night.

Elsewhere, Dragons back-rower Beau Scott is in doubt for Sunday's match against Sydney Roosters with a hamstring injury sustained late against the Tigers, but the club's medical staff say it is not too serious.

Jamie Soward, who left the field suffering with back spasms, is considered a chance of playing against the Roosters.

I am sure the guys will perform at their best while chris is gone . The Kiama camp has come at a good time I think to recharge their batteries and make a fresh charge at the semis .
This is not being critical of Rowdy but he has missed at lot of football since this time last year . Remember this time last year he had a broken jaw ,then the dislocated hip and know the hamstring on the same leg as his hip . Hope this isn't a sign of things to come . My calcualtions have him missing 24 weeks out of the last 33 weeks .

Out of those injuries Happy, the only legitimate one you can be worried about is the hammy. The jaw and hip were freak injuries that could happen to any player.

Yeah the hammy does worry me Bogan especially seeing it is the same leg . It appears his running style has changed slightly (to my old eyes anyway) and I hope he doesn't have the same issues as Hodges etc with his hammy

If it says 4-5 weeks Chris will be abck in 3-4\. i predict he will play the last round game prior to the semis. I think we can win 3 of the 4 games and finish 6th or seventh. hope so as we all know at times we can Switch off when playing teams we are meant to beat.

He whole right leg was always going to be vulnerable to injury if he returned to playing this year. It would not be even close to 'full playing strength' after such a long lay off.

I am confident he will be bigger and stronger next year after a full off-season of further strength/rehab work.

I hope he maintains his speed. I can understand he wont run like lightning forever, but nothing pleases me more than seeing lawrence streak away from opponents (Slater vs Melbourne in 2009)
